We have put together a 4-pick cross-sport parlay that will take you right through Friday, including action from college basketball, college football the NHL and NBA.
One pick is taken from each sport and a winning ticket gives us a nice payout with odds at +1068 with DraftKings; that’s more than 10/1! Let’s break down each of these plays.
College Football: Iowa Hawkeyes +1 (-115) vs Nebraska Cornhuskers 1:30pm ET
The Hawkeyes currently trail Wisconsin at the top of the Big 10 West standings and they will need the Badgers to lose in Minnesota in order for the Hawkeyes to make the Big Ten Championship. A Minnesota win won’t matter if the Hawkeyes cannot take care of business in Lincoln. Nebraska has lost five straight games and is 1-4 SU at home in its last five games against Iowa. The Hawkeyes are 15-2 SU in their last 17 games and 6-1 SU in their last seven road games. They will make it very difficult for the redshirt freshman and I cannot find any reason to back the Cornhuskers without Adrian Martinez running the offense. Iowa should roll Nebraska, which will be hard-pressed to score more than 14 points.

NBA: Phoenix Suns -3.5 (-110) vs New York Knicks, 7:10pm ET
One of the reasons for Phoenix’s dominance is the fact that they do not rely too heavily on a single player to win them games. The Suns have six players scoring in double-figures this season, and they have 10 players averaging at least 7.1 points per game. An abundance of talent also means that Head Coach Monty Williams does not have to play anyone extensive minutes to earn victories. Nobody on Phoenix’s roster is averaging more than 33.6 minutes per game this season, which helps to keep everyone fresh throughout the course of a grueling NBA campaign.
It is hard to fade the Suns right now and it is relatively easy to fade the Knicks in their current state. Though Phoenix’s winning streak will end at some point, it is doubtful that it will come to a conclusion against a New York team that ranks 21st in the NBA in Net Rating at home this year. For that reason, backing the Suns will be the play.

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins ML (-140) vs New York Islanders, 7:38pm ET
Offensively, the Penguins are averaging a full goal per game more than the Islanders, 3-2, as the Islanders rank 31st in that category. Defensively, which is supposed to be the Islanders specialty, isn’t much better. The Penguins rank 9th in expected goals against per 60 minutes, while the Islanders rank 27th. When it comes to production, the Penguins are still better by a wide margin as they rank 7th in goals against per game, whereas the Islanders rank 22nd. Lean on the healthier, hotter, and better team in this game and place your wager on the Penguins money line.

College Basketball: Duke Blue Devils vs Gonzaga Bulldogs -8 (-110), 10:30pm ET
The preseason line on this game was Gonzaga -3, but now we are seeing more than double that in most shops. Normally you would think that is creating a buying opportunity with the underdog but it is a reaction to how dominant the Zags have been.
The Blue Devils are very good; they have elite talent, but I do not want to be fading the Zags just because the line “looks big” or because you “never get Duke at this price.” Gonzaga came into the season at #1 and has played like a top team. I am not going to fade that. Take the Bulldogs.
