France is in a difficult group, pitted against the Netherlands (#7 in FIFA Rankings), Austria (#25) and Poland (#28), but they should come out on top. This would lead to a round-of-16 matchup against the Runners-up of Group F, which will likely be Turkey. After that, I see them going against Belgium before England awaits their arrival in the semi-finals. France took down the Three Lions in the World Cup, and I expect a similar result for Dechamps’ men en route to winning the Euro 2024.

Now I wouldn’t typically bet on two teams from the same group when making Euro 2024 outright picks, but the Netherlands also has what it takes to win it all this June. The Dutch fell to a similar fate as the French because they were eliminated in the World Cup Semi-Final by Lionel Messi and Argentina in a shootout. After falling behind 2-0, Ronald Koeman’s men battled back to tie the game 2-2 in the 90’ + 11 minute. Although they fell short, they portrayed they have what it takes to compete with the best in the world.
Now, they bring back a similar squad, as captain Virgil Van Dijk will anchor the back alongside Manchester City’s Nathan Ake and Tottenham’s Micky Van de Ven. The midfield has a mix of experience and youth, and Tijjani Reijnders has the potential to be one of the best CMs in the tournament after a fantastic season for AC Milan. Memphis Depay and Coady Gakpo offer two pacey attackers up front, and both players can flip a game on its head at any moment.
The path for the Dutch is very winnable as well, even after finishing second in Group D. They would face the Runners-up of Group E in the round of 16, which will likely be Ukraine or Slovakia. Then, I predict they will go up against Portugal before taking on either Germany, Spain or Italy in the semi-final. Although this isn’t a walk in the park, they’re able to avoid the two favorites, England and France until the final. Therefore, I think it’s worth backing the Dutch to win Euro 2024.

Manchester United’s Rasmus Hoijlund had a great second half of the season, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Christian Eriksen, Andreas Christensen, and Joakim Maehle will all provide strength and influence across the field. This squad fell to England in extra time in the semifinals at Euro 2020, which came after Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field in one of their group-stage games. Although they surprised a lot of people with that result, I wouldn’t be surprised if they can pull off a similar run.
Kasper Hjulmand’s men play a disciplined style, which allows them to compete with anyone. Additionally, they’re extremely lethal on the counterattack, and if Hoijlund has a breakout tournament, this team will be dangerous. Although they’re a longshot, it’s worth taking a flier on Denmark to win this year’s tournament based on the latest Euro 2024 outright odds.
