Hurricanes ML 3-Way (-150)
Not only are the New Jersey Devils down 1-0 in this series, but they enter Tuesday’s Game 2 with a depleted lineup. Already playing without Jack Hughes and Jonas Siegenthaler, Brenden Dillon and Cody Glass both left Game 1 with injuries. In addition, Luke Hughes left with an injury during that game as well, but he would later return to the action. It remains to be seen who will be available for New Jersey on Tuesday night, which could make things even more difficult going up against a team as strong as Carolina.
The Hurricanes controlled possession of the puck in Game 1, and out-shot the Devils 45-24. That is on-brand for Rod Brind’Amour’s squad, as Carolina’s defensive structure is always a priority, especially in the postseason. The Hurricanes also displayed great forward depth in Game 1, as 7 total forwards recorded at least 1 point, and 3rd-line winger Logan Stankoven potted a pair of goals. New Jersey doesn’t boast that same type of depth at this time. Going against a banged-up New Jersey team, consider backing the Hurricanes to win Game 2 in regulation.
Sebastian Aho anytime goal-scorer (+185)
Sebastian Aho put together yet another strong campaign in 2024-25 with 29 goals and 45 assists for 74 points during the regular season. He has been a model of consistency so far in his NHL career, and after being held off the score sheet in Carolina’s Game 1 win, he could be primed for a big night in Game 2. Aho led Carolina forwards with 24 shifts, which included 18:12 of ice time and 3:11 of power play time. He fired 3 shots on goal, and fired another 2 that were blocked. Centering Carolina’s top line and seeing plenty of power play time, Aho could be in a prime spot to find the back of the net tonight.
Timo Meier over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
Timo Meier led New Jersey with 239 shots on goal during the course of the regular season. He fired just 2 shots on goal in the series opener on Sunday, and the Devils could rely on him to produce some offense in Game 2. Meier has always been a volume shooter, but he has had to take a back seat to other forwards so far in his time in New Jersey. The Devils are pretty banged up right now, and could use some high-volume shooting numbers from Meier in Game 2. He closed out the regular season by playing 19:57, 20:33, and 21:52 over New Jersey’s final 3 games. He saw just 16:36 of ice time in Game 1, but given New Jersey’s desperation for offense, Sheldon Keefe may need to deploy him more often if he wants to put some pressure on Carolina.
