We’ve got a jam-packed Week 9 slate with a ton of great matchups, including this highly anticipated NFC East clash between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. In Week 7 week I cooked up two same game parlays, one for Bills/Patriots at +1683 odds, and one for Lions/Ravens at +1596 odds. Both of them hit. Then last week I did another two, and I hit on Bengals/49ers at +1187. That’s three out of four that we’ve cashed, all at 12/1 odds or better.
I’m only doing one this week, so let’s try to make it four out of five. You can also read all our other NFL Week 9 picks for the side and total here, but now let’s get right into this Cowboys/Eagles same game parlay.
Dallas Cowboys alt spread -6.5 (+320)
Dak Prescott to have 300+ passing yards (+320)
Parlay odds: +1655
We have a 2-leg Same Game Parlay which pays out at almost 17/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down.
Dallas Cowboys alt spread -6.5 (+320)
To start this Same Game Parlay we’ve got the Cowboys on an alt spread. I’m mostly fading the Eagles here, since I’ve been skeptical of Philly for a while. Only one of their seven victories this season have been at all impressive, and that was against the Dolphins when they were missing a bunch of guys who were injured.
They very nearly lost both of their matchups with the Commanders, and they did lose outright to the Jets and Zach Wilson just a couple of weeks ago. Jalen Hurts has already thrown more interceptions than he did all of last season, and he also hasn’t been nearly the same as a runner. In each of Hurts’ two previous seasons as the Eagles’ starter he’s averaged more than 50 rushing yards per game, but this time around he’s only averaging 35.
Philly’s defense isn’t anywhere near as good as some people seem to think it is, and they’ve already been shredded by Sam Howell twice this season. Dallas’ defense on the other hand is back to playing at an elite level, as they’ve made life miserable for Matthew Stafford and Justin Herbert the last two weeks.
They held Herbert to just 6.1 yards per attempt, and the Rams to only 280 yards of total offense. Four of Dallas’ five wins this season have come by at least 20 points and they clearly have a pretty high ceiling, so they make a lot of sense as a team to target on an alt spread.
Dak Prescott to have 300+ passing yards (+320)
All we need to cash this same game parlay is one really good game from Prescott. And if the Cowboys are covering an alt spread I think it means Prescott had a big day, since Dallas isn’t likely to have too much success running the ball against Philly’s stout defensive front. The last time these two teams played each other the Cowboys aired it out to great success, as Prescott finished with 347 yards in that one.
Prescott is coming off a 304-yard game against the Rams, and he has now averaged 9.1 yards per attempt in back to back games. And the Eagles have given up the sixth-most passing yards of any team in the league this year. With the Cowboys changing offensive coordinators this offseason there was always going to be an adjustment period, but it appears Prescott is starting to settle in.
CeeDee Lamb has officially snapped out of his mini-slump and he’s been dominant the past two weeks, going for at least 117 yards in each game. Prescott peppered him with 14 targets last week against the Rams, and if those two are locked in like that again on Sunday then I think he’ll be very likely to hit 300+ again.
