The First Four of the NCAA Tournament continues on Wednesday. No, it’s not the field of 64; no, your brackets are not impacted by what happens. But it’s still the Big Dance, and there will surely be a whole host of eyeballs on the festivities—and probably a whole host of bets, too. We also have plenty of action in the NBA and NHL.
Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far on Wednesday.
NCAAB: Rutgers Scarlet Knights +1 over Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Bettors’ favorite play on today’s small NCAA Tournament slate is on Rutgers to cover a +1 spread against Notre Dame in a battle for the final at-large spot in the traditional 64-team bracket. A total of 72 percent of the handle and 71 percent of the wagers are backing the Scarlet Knights against the spread.

NBA: Denver Nuggets -6 over Washington Wizards
The Nuggets are trying desperately to stay in the top 6 in the Western Conference and avoid the play-in tournament. Punters are putting their faith in a motivated Denver team, which is bringing in 92 percent of the money and 85 percent of the bets to cover a -6 spread in its road games at Washington. The visitors are also being hammered on the -240 money line to the tune of 92 percent of the handle and 91 percent of the wagers.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks ML over Charlotte Hornets
Bettors also like Atlanta a fair amount. The Hawks are slight underdogs (+105 on the money line) at Charlotte and the public is happy to hammer them at plus money. With 66 percent of the bets being put on Atlanta’s money line, 87 percent of the handle is doing the same.
Our NBA experts are actually on the Hornets in this one, but we do agree with the betting public on the Nuggets against the spread.
