Super Bowl Sunday is tomorrow, but there is a lot to discuss on Saturday. With every other sport unwilling (and for good reason!) to compete with the end of the NFL season, today’s schedule is loaded all across the board. We have an 11-game slate in the NBA, a total of 16 teams taking the ice in the NHL, and a whopping 21 top-25 programs in action on the college hardwood.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far.

NBA: Miami Heat -10 over Brooklyn Nets

One of bettors’ favorite plays of the day is on Miami to cover 10 points in its home game against Brooklyn. The Heat against the spread are inspiring 90% of the handle and 77% of the bets. And why not? The Nets are in free-fall mode and they just traded away James Harden. One our best NBA bets of the day is on the under in this contest, with the total set at 219.5.

NBA: New York Knicks ML over Portland Trail Blazers

Punters are also hammering the Knicks as they wrap up a 5-game Western Conference road trip at the Trail Blazers. New York on the -195 money line is hauling in 80% of both the handle and the wagers. We also feel good about the Knicks today, taking them against a -4.5 spread.

NHL: Nashville Predators ML over Winnipeg Jets

Bettors’ favorite NHL play – or one of them – is on the Predators on the -200 money line in their home date with the Jets. Nashville is being supported by 95% of the money and 91 percent of the wagers to win straight up. The public is also somewhat willing to give the 1.5 goals on the puck line. A total of 98% of the handle is backing the Predators to prevail by multiple goals, but interestingly just 41% of the wagers are going in that direction. Clearly there are some huge bets on Nashville and much smaller ones on Winnipeg.

NCAAB: Michigan State -4 over Indiana

One of many intriguing college basketball contests pits Michigan State against Big Ten rival Indiana in East Lansing. The Spartans against a -4 spread are bringing in 84% of the money and 92% of the wagers. Bettors also happy to incur -170 juice on the money line. A total of 94% of the handle and 90% of the wagers are hoping for a straight up win by Sparty.

NFL: Bengals ML over Rams

Here is the latest Super Bowl betting update: bettors continue to like the Bengals on both the money line and against the spread. It isn’t wildly skewed, but the underdogs are clearly inspiring a majority of the bets at the moment. At +160 to win straight up (down from +170), Cincinnati is being backed by 64% of the handle and also 64% of the wagers. The Bengals are getting 4 points and they are drawing 55% of the money and 60% of the bets against the spread. As for the total, over 48.5 is getting 57% of the handle and 58% of the bets. That isn’t surprising since the public pretty much always likes to play overs, but we are on the under for Super Bowl LVI.
