One of the best times in sports is upon us. March has arrived, which means the madness is about to begin. We also have the NBA and NHL getting toward the ends of their respective regular seasons. Even baseball could be close to happening, as some relatively positive developments in CBA discussions took place on Monday.
Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far on Tuesday.
NBA: Dallas Mavericks -5.5 over Los Angeles Lakers
One of bettors’ favorite plays of the day is on Dallas to cover a -5.5 spread in its road game against the Lakers. The Mavericks against the spread are inspiring 92 percent of the handle and 80 percent of the bets. And why not? The Mavs are on a roll and coming off an improbable win at Golden State on Sunday, when they rallied from a 19-point deficit in the 4th quarter. As for the Lakers, of course, they are an abject disaster right now.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets vs Toronto Raptors Over 220
There is nothing the public loves more than a good over bet, and they have found one – or that is the hope, at least – in the Nets-Raptors game. With 86 percent of the wagers backing Over 220, 92 percent of the money is doing the same. We can’t disagree, as the over for this game is one of our best bets of the day in the NBA. In fact, we love everything about Nets-Raptors. Toronto +8 is also one of our 3-star plays.

A total of 92 percent of both the handle and the bets are backing the Avs to win outright.

NHL: Edmonton Oilers ML over Philadelphia Flyers
The public also likes Edmonton, which is visiting Philadelphia on Tuesday. There is a very reasonable price on the Oilers’ money line (-155), which can explain punters’ enthusiasm. A total of 94 percent of the handle and 85 percent of the bets are hoping for a straight up win by the visitors.

On the -235 money line they are bringing in a bloated 98 percent of the handle and 97 percent of the wagers.
