We are kicking off the weekend with a. busy Friday in the world of sports. We have a full 15-game slate in Major League Baseball, eight in the NBA, and four in the NHL. There is also the NFL Draft, too. Let’s take a look at where the betting money has gone so far.

NBA: Washington Wizards -6.5 over Cleveland Cavaliers

Per DraftKings, the public is all over the Washington Wizards in their road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. A bloated 92 percent of the handle and 83 percent of the bets are backing Cleveland to cover the -6.5 spread. Bettors are also happy to incur -265 juice on the money line, with 90 percent of the handle and 83 percent of the wagers calling for a Cavaliers outright win.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Over 221.5

Another popular play is on the over in this showdown between the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers. With the total set at 221.5, 91 percent of the money and 85 percent of the bets are hoping for a high-scoring affair. Punters are also enthusiastic about the Sixers; 81 percent of the money and 70 percent of the wagers are on Philadelphia -9.5 As for the -455 money line, 86 percent of the money and 82 percent of the wagers are giving a nod to Philly winning straight up.

NHL: Vegas Golden Knights ML over Arizona Coyotes

Bettors’ favorite NHL play of the day is on the Vegas Golden Knights in their road game against the Arizona Coyotes. Vegas on the -205 money line is getting a lofty 93 percent of the handle and 89 percent of the wagers. Bettors are almost as enthusiastic about the -1.5 puck line; 82 percent of the money is on the Golden Knights -1.5, while 81 percent of the bets are going in the same direction.

NHL: Colorado Avalanche -1.5 over San Jose Sharks

The public is also hammering the Colorado Avalanche, who are playing host to the San Jose Sharks. Colorado is drawing 88 percent of the money and 86 percent of the bets on the -1.5 puck line. The Avalanche are getting a ton of love to win outright, too, even though the value may not be as good at -305. A total of 96 percent of the handle and 90 percent of the bets are on Colorado’s money line.

We like both of these plays. Vegas -1.5 and Colorado -1.5 are among our NHL picks.

MLB: New York Yankees -1.5 over Detroit Tigers

On the baseball diamond, bettors really like the New York Yankees to easily take care of the visiting Detroit Tigers. A whopping 97 percent of the money and 86 percent of the bets are banking on New York to cover the -1.5 run line. The public is also intrigued by the -375 money line; 85 percent of the money and 83 percent of the wagers are tipping the Yankees to win straight up.

We have to agree with the public here. In fact, New York -1.5 is one of our best MLB bets of the day.
