The USMNT is on the brink of elimination from Group C at the 2024 Copa America and must beat Uruguay on Monday, July 1, to keep their hopes alive of reaching the quarterfinals. USA suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Panama last time and must match that rival’s result when they play Bolivia. With Bolivia struggling and Panama expected to beat them, expect the USMNT to pull out all the stops. USA vs Uruguay kicks off at 9:00 pm ET and will air live on FS1, while Panama vs Bolivia starts at the same time and will be shown live on FS2. USA vs Uruguay best bet: Both teams to score (-112)
The USA appeared on course to secure a place in the knockout round with a game to spare but they blew their chance against Panama. Timothy Weah’s early red card proved to be a hammer blow as the USA suffered a shock 2-1 defeat. They must now at least match Panama’s result to reach the knockout stages and they face a red-hot Uruguay team that is yet to guarantee its own progress, although it would take an improbable set of results to see them eliminated.
Uruguay look exceptional defensively but the USA simply have to go all out in this game to try to assure progression to the knockout stages, rather than relying on already-eliminated Bolivia beating Panama. The Stars and Stripes were able to score against Panama despite being reduced to 10 men and are generally good for a goal at home, having scored in 10 of their last 11 games on US soil. Uruguay look to be in fine scoring form with 8 goals across 2 games and it is hard to see them drawing a blank here, so both teams has plenty of appeal.
