Bowl season of the 2023 college football campaign continues on Friday with a 4-game slate. It includes the Gator Bowl between the Clemson Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats. The Tigers are coming off a disappointing regular season in which they compiled an 8-4 record (4-4 in the ACC). As for the Wildcats (7-5, 3-5 SEC), they started 5-0 before losing 5 of their last 7 games.

Here is my Clemson vs Kentucky Same Game Parlay for the festivities, which will be televised starting at 12:00 pm ET on ESPN. Also be sure to check out our full Clemson vs Kentucky predictions.

Kentucky ML (+158)

Ray Davis to record 100 + rushing yards (+235)

Ray Davis to score 2+ touchdowns (+420)

Same Game Parlay odds: +910

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as Kentucky running back Ray Davis having a huge day would obviously work well with a Wildcats upset. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Kentucky ML over Clemson (+158)

Kentucky’s offense should find success against a depleted Clemson front 7, especially since Davis is playing despite recently declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. The Tigers are expected to be without 5 starters on defense, including linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Meanwhile, Kentucky is 11th nationally in rushing explosiveness behind a fully healthy offensive line that ranks in the top 50 in tackles for loss allowed. It’s also worth noting that there is projected to be 13 mph winds with gusts up to 29 mph and a chance of rain during the game.

Both offenses will probably try to work their rushing attack, but the bad news for Clemson is that the Wildcats are much better against the run than they are against the pass. UK limits opponents to 113.9 rushing yards per game (25th in FBS) and make 6.1 tackles for loss per game (39th in FBS). In a matchup with plenty of opt-outs, the playing field is more even than the odds would suggest. Don’t be surprised by a minor upset.

Ray Davis to record 100 + rushing yards (+235)

Davis racked up 1,066 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns (13 on the ground, 7 receiving) during the regular season. The senior from San Francisco will be eager to go out with a bang and he has every reason to do so at the expense of Clemson. That’s not to say the Tigers’ defense is poor (far from it!), but they can be attacked on the ground. Clemson is #5 nationally against the pass, surrendering just 162.2 yards per contest through the air on a hopeless 5.2 yards per attempt. I expect Davis to get a ton of carries, which he will likely parlay into plenty of yards. He has performances of 280, 128 and 112 yards already this year.

Ray Davis to score 2+ touchdowns (+420)

If Davis goes for 100 yards and multiple touchdowns, Kentucky will obviously have a great chance to win. Thus I like the correlation of these plays, especially with a payout at almost 10/1 odds. Davis’ 20 TDs have come in 12 different games, meaning he has failed to find the endzone only once this entire season (during a 24-3 rout of Mississippi State). He has scored multiple touchdowns on 6 occasions, including 4 against Florida and 3 in the regular-season finale at Louisville – a 38-31 upset in favor of the Wildcats. Asking Davis to deliver at least 2 against Clemson really isn’t too much.
