College Football Best Bets including Mega Parlay at +1089 odds for Wednesday's NCAAF Games: Jayhawks soar in bowl season

Kansas Jayhawks quarterback Jalon Daniels (6) throws a pass during the first half against the Texas Longhorns at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

It’s bowl season in college football, so it’s time to celebrate with a mega parlay. We have several bowl games on Wednesday, and there are 3 edges that I believe are perfect for today’s college football mega parlay. Let’s get right into it.

Duke -6.5 (+135)

Kansas ML (+125)

Ole Miss -6.5 (+125)

Mega parlay odds: +1089

Duke Blue Devils -6.5 (+135) over UCF Knights

Duke has had an excellent year, and I think they can end their season on a high note. Riley Leonard, Duke’s dual-threat quarterback, passed for 2,794 yards and 20 touchdowns while also rushing for 636 yards and 11 scores. Duke finished the season with 8 victories and had a strong offensive performance. The Blue Devils will now try to earn their 9th victory of the year when they take on the UCF Knights in the Military Bowl from Annapolis, Maryland, on the Wednesday. This will be their first bowl appearance since 2018, so Duke will be coming out hungry for a win. While both of these programs enjoyed success this year, Duke is in a better position going into this bowl game.

For the Knights, their leading receiver Ryan O’Keefe, starting linebacker Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste, and starting cornerback Davonte Brown will all miss this game because they have entered the transfer portal. Duke’s defensive weakness is against the pass, which is less of an issue against UCF’s offense that emphasizes running the ball. Duke allows just 3.7 yards per attempt on the ground and has a 17th-ranked opposing EPA per run (CFBGraphs), so the Blue Devils should be able to hold their own against UCF’s rushing game.

Kansas Jayhawks ML (+125) over Arkansas Razorbacks

It’s the first bowl game in 14 years for the Jayhawks. Kansas, who finished with a 6-6 straight-up record and a 7-4-1 record against the spread, have been the most unexpected team this season. They are participating in their first bowl game since 2008, which was also the last time they had a winning season. But if the Jayhawks lose this game, they would once again be a below .500 team. For this bowl game matchup, they will be taking on the Arkansas Razorbacks, who finished the season with 3 losses in their last 4 games.

The reason I think that the Jayhawks can upset Arkansas is simple: Jalon Daniels. He concluded the season with a 65% completion rate, 19 total touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. He missed some time with an injury, but when he has played, Kansas owns a 5-3 record. The bottom line is Kansas should come out hot as they look to put an exclamation point on their unexpected season while Arkansas is disappointed to be playing in this bowl game rather than competing for an SEC title or appearing in the Sugar Bowl. I’ll back the team with more to play for.

Ole Miss Rebels -6.5 (+125) over Texas Tech Red Raiders

Based on the game total for this game, you can tell both teams possess excellent offenses. The total is above 70 points as both offenses are expected to score a healthy amount of points, and I think the difference in the game will be the Ole Miss rushing attack. They just ran for 463 yards against Arkansas, and it’s common for them to surpass 200 rushing yards each game. The Texas Tech defense is not an exceptional unit – especially at stopping the run. On the other side of the ball, the Red Raiders have a solid passing attack. In fact, they finished with the top passing attack in the Big 12.

So it comes down to the Ole Miss secondary and if they can force a turnover or two, which would put a massive dent into Texas Tech’s chance at winning. The game total suggests that defense will be shredded by both offenses, and I agree with that, but the Rebels have a more consistent offensive attack that should give them the edge in this game. And if they can force a few turnovers, they can win this game by at least a touchdown.
