Where is the Rose Bowl played?
The Rose Bowl is back in Pasadena this year. Last year it took place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for the first time due to COVID-related restrictions in California at the time.
Now it’s back in its rightful and historic spot at the actual Rose Bowl, home to UCLA. Interestingly, the game was also briefly hosted in Durham, N.C. during World War II before going back to Pasadena.
Who Plays in the Rose Bowl in 2022?
The 2022 Rose Bowl will be contested between the Utah Utes and Ohio State Buckeyes. Utah is ranked No. 11 in the College Football Playoff rankings, while Ohio State is ranked No. 6.
The teams are meeting because of the Pac-12 vs Big Ten tie-ins, and oddsmakers have Ohio State as a modest favorite of about 4.5 points.
Utah went 10-3 this season, and after a disappointing early stretch it finished the year by winning six straight games. Ohio State looked to be headed for the College Football Playoff once again until Michigan stunned the Buckeyes with a 42-27 butt-kicking in the regular-season finale.

Who is Favorite to Win the Rose Bowl 2022?
Ohio State is a favorite, but certainly not a massive one. The Buckeyes are -4.5 favorites at most sportsbooks. In most years an Ohio State team would likely be a much larger favorite over Utah, so this line shows that oddsmakers think the Utes are legit.
