SMU ML (+245)
Kansas State ML (+250)
Parlay odds: +1107
Let’s break down each of the two legs one by one.
SMU ML (+245) over Houston
We’re starting this mega parlay in the AAC with SMU. If there’s one thing the Mustangs do, it’s defend their home court. In fact, SMU is undefeated at home this season. They’re a perfect 11-0 within the friendly confines of their own building. Houston is a great team but they certainly aren’t unbeatable, and they have been shakier on the road. They’ve played only one road game against a team ranked in the top 78 by KenPom this season, and they lost to Alabama.
A couple of their recent road games were against middling conference competition in Tulsa (174) and Temple (125). They beat Tulsa by only 2 points, and squeaked past Temple by 5. The Cougars play at a very slow pace, relying on their defense to win games. That naturally increases the variance in their games. They’ve also now been without leading scorer Marcus Sasser for a little over a month, which is a huge loss.
Kansas State ML (+250) over Baylor
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Baylor is officially slumping, and I’m going to fade them and hope it continues. The Bears started the season a perfect 15-0 but recently they’ve fallen on hard times, and are just 4-4 in their last 8 contests. Most recently, they got demolished by 24 by Kansas. During this stretch they also lost at home to Oklahoma State, and OSU is no better than this Kansas State team is. Don’t be fooled by their 12-10 record, KSU is pretty dang good. According to KenPom they’ve been extremely unlucky this year with a bunch of close losses.
For example they recently lost by 3 points to Kansas, who just crushed Baylor. The Wildcats also just beat Oklahoma State in their most recent home game, who also beat Baylor. In their last game they beat TCU by double digits on the road, so they’ve got some momentum as they look to pull off the upset. Not enough people are talking about sophomore guard Nijel Pack, who has been on fire and is shooting 43% from beyond the arc for the year.
