The 2023 NFL Draft will be held from April 27-29 in Kansas City, and offers plenty of wagering opportunities. The position battles are extremely intriguing, potentially going in any number of directions near the top of the draft.

But before names start getting called, we have a ton of draft content coming to get you primed. Here we’ll be focusing on draft props surrounding the quarterback, specifically where CJ Stroud will land. The former Ohio State quarterback is expected to be a top 5 pick, but which team will make him their franchise QB?

We’ll start by taking a look at the odds, courtesy of FanDuel, before diving into the best bet:

CJ Stroud 2023 NFL Draft odds

Stroud entered his college career with high expectations, and he mostly met them throughout his career. The biggest hangup for Ohio State seemed to be getting over the hump against the likes of Michigan or Georgia, but those losses were hardly Stroud’s fault. Standing around 5 inches taller than Bryce Young and having thrown for 81 TDs and only 12 interceptions in his last 2 seasons with the Buckeyes, it appeared that Stroud could be the top pick in this year’s draft last month. However, the odds have since shifted heavily in favor of Young to be the 1st overall pick. This gives us plenty of value for a best bet on Stroud to go anywhere in the top 5. Below are the odds for some of Stroud’s draft position props in Kansas City, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

To be the #1 overall pick: (+1500)

To be the #2 overall pick: (+550)

To be the #3 overall pick: (+220)

To be the #4 overall pick: (+220)

CJ Stroud 2023 NFL Draft best bet: To be the #4 overall pick (+220)

Stroud was originally a quarterback that was often mocked to the Carolina Panthers given that he profiles as a QB that head coach Frank Reich typically favors. However, with Young poised to be the top pick and most experts pegging Will Levis to be taken at #2 by Houston, there is a ton of value on Stroud to go to Reich’s former team in Indianapolis. The Colts are a team that likes pocket passers and Stroud has also proven to be an extremely accurate quarterback who works very well in structure. To his credit, he also showed flashes of brilliance on the ground in the College Football Playoff semifinal back last December against Georgia. Given that his high floor makes him a safe, attractive option for a rebuilding team that isn’t known for taking many risks, I like Stroud’s chances of ending up in Indianapolis.
