The Champions League Round of 16 continues on Wednesday with another two second-leg ties, as Tottenham look to overturn a 1-0 deficit at home against AC Milan, while PSG look to do the same on the road to Bayern Munich. Both Spurs and Milan have struggled recently but that will inspire both teams to like their chances in what is likely to be a close game. As for PSG, even with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe up front they’ve struggled to fulfill Champions League ambitions, but this could be where they prove their doubters wrong.

We’ve picked out our best bets for each of those matchups on Wednesday afternoon, but make sure you check out the rest of our soccer predictions. Both games kick off at 3:oo pm ET and can be viewed on Paramount+.

Tottenham vs AC Milan best bet: Tottenham to qualify (+140)

Tottenham has endured a miserable week, losing 1-0 to second-tier team Sheffield United in the FA Cup before a Premier League loss by the same scoreline at Wolves. However, the Champions League last-16 second leg against Milan on Wednesday could be the kind of occasion to drag Spurs out of their slump and they could overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

Tottenham’s midfield was depleted in the first game at the San Siro, but Milan could have used another goal to take to London, where Spurs have won their last 3 EPL games in shutouts against Chelsea, West Ham and Manchester City. Milan began 2023 with a run of 1 win in 8 games in all competitions before narrow victories over Torino, Tottenham, Monza and Atalanta. The Italian champions slipped to a 2-1 Serie A loss at Fiorentina on Saturday, scoring an injury-time consolation goal, and if Spurs start strongly then the Italian team could buckle under pressure.

Bayern Munich vs PSG best bet: PSG to qualify (+410)

Bayern Munich produced an excellent road performance to earn a 1-0 first-leg lead in the heavyweight last-16 clash with Paris St-Germain but the French champions are worth backing to turn things around at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday. PSG won 3-2 in Munich in April 2021, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice, and World Cup final heroes Mbappe and Lionel Messi should be confident of troubling the Bayern defense again. Neither team has looked secure defensively in recent league games and PSG gave up a 2-0 lead against Nantes over the weekend before winning 4-2.

Bayern beat Stuttgart 2-1 and that was the 6th time in the last 8 league games that both teams had scored, including a 3-2 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach on February 18. With the suspended Benjamin Pavard joining the injured Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernandez on the sidelines, Bayern’s defense is not at full strength and PSG could take advantage.
