Champions League soccer predictions and UCL best bets for Wednesday 10/4: Expect goals in Newcastle vs PSG

Eddie Howe has saluted Callum Wilson’s “brilliant mentality” as he waits to see whether his latest battle to return from adversity will be rewarded with a World Cup call-up. The 30-year-old striker is back in the Newcastle team and among the goals after a six-week lay-off with a hamstring injury.

The Champions League group stage continues on Wednesday with a host of exciting matchups, including reigning champions Manchester City taking on RB Leipzig while moneybags Newcastle battle PSG. There are 8 matchups in total with the likes of Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan also in action, and you can head to our soccer predictions for picks on some of the other games. But for now, let’s dive into our two Champions League soccer best bets for Wednesday, with both games kicking off at 3:00 pm ET.

Newcastle vs PSG best bet: Both teams to score (-195)

There promises to be an electric atmosphere at St James’ Park for Newcastle’s Champions League return against Paris Saint-Germain and it should be a cracking encounter. The Magpies are likely to pour forward and despite a good recent defensive record, they are sure to be tested defensively, so both teams to score looks a solid play. PSG has scored in 30 of its last 32 Champions League road games but has not posted a shutout in the last 13.

RB Leipzig vs Manchester City best bet: Both teams to score (-163)

Manchester City beat RB Leipzig 7-0 on its way to winning the Champions League last season, but the first leg in Germany was a 1-1 tie and both teams could score again when they meet in Germany on Wednesday. Leipzig has proved a match for Bayern Munich twice this season and City needs to recover from recent losses against Newcastle and Wolves. City has, however, scored in 12 of its last 13 league and cup games and both teams have scored in 9 of Leipzig’s last 10 Champions League home games.

Porto vs Barcelona best bet: Porto or tie double chance (-105)

Barcelona has been a little unconvincing since thrashing Royal Antwerp 5-0 in its opening Champions League game and is worth fading for Wednesday’s trip to Porto. The home team impressively beat Shakhtar Donetsk 3-1 on matchday one and is tough to beat at the Estadio do Dragao. Porto is unbeaten in its last 3 Champions League home games and Barcelona has failed to score in 4 of its last 6 road trips in this competition.
