Liverpool started its Champions League Group A campaign with a 4-1 loss away to Napoli and the Italians are worth backing to complete a double over the Reds at Anfield. Napoli have gone from strength to strength this season, winning all 5 of their Champions League group games and scoring 20 goals in the process.
The pressure is on Liverpool after a shock 2-1 home defeat to EPL strugglers Leeds at the weekend and Jurgen Klopp’s defense could be vulnerable against the visitors’ brilliant offensive unit. Napoli have also been flying in Serie A, winning 4-0 against Sassuolo on Saturday, and the road win looks the best bet at Anfield.
Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan best bet: Bayern Munich ML & both teams to score (+120)
Bayern Munich have won 5 out of 5 in Group C, completing the double over Barcelona and winning 2-0 at Inter Milan on matchday 1. Despite injuries to Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sane and Lucas Hernandez, and fitness concerns over defender Matthijs de Ligt, Bayern are expected to extend their perfect group-stage record against Inter at the Allianz Arena.
The Milan club has lost Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku to injury but the Nerazzurri are still in good heart after winning 6 of their last 7 matches in all competitions. The only blot on Inter’s recent record was a 3-3 tie at Barcelona and the visitors can get on the scoresheet in a defeat to Bayern.
Marseille vs Tottenham best bet: Both teams to score (-155)
Just 2 points cover the 4 teams in Group D and Marseille have to go for maximum points against leaders Tottenham to seal a place in the last 16. Both teams were involved in exciting league matches at the weekend as Tottenham battled back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Bournemouth in the EPL and Marseille blew a 2-0 lead at Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
Backing both teams to score looks the way to go in this matchday 6 clash as the two rivals look stronger offensively than they do in defense. Marseille scored 6 goals in home and away wins over Sporting before a 2-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt and there should be more entertainment at the Stade Velodrome on Tuesday.
Sporting vs Eintracht Frankfurt best bet: Tie ML (+260)
Sporting sit 2nd in the congested Group D standings so a tie with Eintracht Frankfurt would be enough to take them through to the last 16 and that looks like a tempting bet.
The matchday 1 fixture between these teams ended in a 3-0 win for Sporting in Germany but Eintracht are in better form now and their 4-game winning streak was only snapped by a 2-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Sporting also had a league setback at the weekend, losing 1-0 at Arouca in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, and a tight contest looks likely with the hosts capable of frustrating Frankfurt to claim the point they need.
