I’ve successfully cashed a +1078 odds Same Game Parlay on the Lakers vs Thunder game this Sunday, my 3rd winner in 4 attempts. I’m looking to keep the momentum going with the Celtics vs Knicks game for which I’ve prepared a +568 odds bet. Get predictions on the side and total for Tuesday’s slate on our NBA Picks page but now let’s get into my Celtics vs Knicks bet!
BOS Celtics Money Line (-112)
Mikal Bridges to Score 20+ Points (+255)
Same Game Parlay odds: +568
BOS Celtics Money Line (-112)
One of the biggest issues this Knicks team has faced all year long is their lack of success against the elite teams in both Conferences. They’ve not won a game in 8 attempts against the Celtics, Cavaliers and Thunder combined. Boston has thoroughly dominated the 3 meetings this season winning by 23, 27 and 13 points. The 2 most recent meetings were played just before the All-Star break and not much has changed to warrant me considering backing the Knicks here, even if the oddsmakers are giving them equal chances to win Tuesday’s game.
Granted, Boston is safe in the 2nd seed and that might be why they’re only 1.5 point favorites here, but I still see the defending champions taking this game seriously because they want to send a clear message that they are the better team ahead of a potential 2nd Round match-up with the Knicks. The Cs have won 11 of 12 games, while in their 3 most recent games they’ve dominated the boards against their opponents recording an average of 18 offensive rebounds per game. Boston is on an 8-game road win streak, they’ve beaten the Knicks 4 times in 5 meetings at MSG and they’re also 7-1 SU in the past 8 meetings while covering the spread in 6 of 7. Give me Boston to win outright here.
Mikal Bridges to Score 20+ Points (+255)
Bridges has been on a heater lately averaging 19.9 points over his last 10 games. Now, some of those shot opportunities came because Jalen Brunson was out of the line-up, however with Brunson returning in his last game Bridges once again cleared this line by scoring 22 points. He has now scored at least 20 points in back-to-back games and in 6 of his last 10, for a bet that’s landed that many times we are getting a huge +255 odds here and I’m all over that bet. Against the Celtics he has also had some memorable performances over the years, in the last 9 meetings Bridges is averaging 19.1 points per game. I would argue that he is only the 3rd or even 4th scoring option on this Knicks roster, because of that he could go under the radar a bit here and have a solid scoring output once again. Boston could also rest a few important players as they’ve already clinched the number 2 spot, going up against a Jaylen Brown on defense isn’t the same as matching up with Payton Pritchard. I’m counting on Bridges to come up big for the Knicks here.
