The 2023 NFL Draft will be held from April 27-29 in Kansas City, and offers plenty of wagering opportunities. The position battles are extremely intriguing, potentially going in any number of directions near the top of the draft.
But before names start getting called, we have a ton of draft content coming to get you primed. Here we’ll be focusing on draft props surrounding the quarterback, specifically where Bryce Young will land. The former Alabama quarterback is expected to be the top overall pick, but is there any value how will he perform in his rookie season?
We’ll start by taking a look at the odds, courtesy of DraftKings, before diving into the best bet:

Bryce Young 2023 NFL Draft odds
Despite some questions about his height and physical tools, Bryce Young is still a very promising prospect at the next level. From the minute he became the starter at Alabama, Young was in immediate control of the offense and made the Crimson Tide into the national title contender that they were in the 2021-22 season en route to a Heisman Trophy Award. Young is an excellent processor of defenses with great pocket skills and awareness, so it’s no surprise that he’s going to be a top 2 pick at worst. Here are the odds for some of Young’s draft props in Kansas City, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
To be the #1 overall pick: -2400
To be the #2 overall pick: +2300

Bryce Young 2023 NFL Draft best bet: To be the #1 overall pick (-2400)
I want to make it clear that this is not a recommendation to bet this line, as Young’s odds to be the #1 overall pick are a whopping -2400 at DraftKings Sportsbook. You certainly can’t bet this line, even though it seems like a foregone conclusion. However, there could be value on betting on Carolina Panthers futures going forward. At the moment, the Panthers’ win total is listed at 7.5 at DraftKings, and their odds to make the playoffs are sitting at +165. I do think those odds are a little short, so I wouldn’t play the Panthers to make the playoffs with a rookie quarterback and a lot of work to be done, even in a weak NFC South. In fact, if you like the Panthers to overachieve, I’d rather take them at +350 to win the NFC South and hope they can contend in an awful division.
Has an Alabama quarterback ever been drafted #1 overall?
Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones were the first Alabama quarterbacks to be taken in the 1st round in over 4 decades in recent years. Not only is Bryce Young following in their footsteps, he’s also set to exceed them in one major way. Young is set to be the second Alabama quarterback to be taken with the #1 pick in the NFL Draft in the program’s illustrious history. In fact, this would be the first time since Harry Gilmer in 1948 that an Alabama quarterback is drafted with the top pick. And while Joe Namath was actually selected first overall in the AFL draft by the Jets, he was picked 12th overall in the NFL draft by the Cardinals in 1965.
