Brazil and Switzerland are where they would want to be after the first round of World Cup Group G games, with 3 points each. Now they meet in Doha on Monday with Brazil a rock-solid favorite over the European team. But did Brazil do enough against Serbia to merit being such a heavy favorite – especially without injured star Neymar – or can Switzerland cause another World Cup upset?

We’ve thought it through and come up with a Brazil vs Switzerland Same Game Parlay, which is available at +1038 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Over 5.5 Brazil corners (-140)

G Xhaka to be booked (+165)

Raphinha to have 1 or more shots in each half (-220)

Same Game Parlay odds: +644

Let’s check out the reasoning behind each of our selections:

Over 5.5 Brazil corners (-140)

The mighty Brazilians did all the attacking against Serbia in their opener, with 59% possession and 23 shots. And they didn’t even play that well, certainly during a fairly lame first half. In Monday’s game against Switzerland they’ll be up against a similar team – well-organised, physical and with a threat of their own.

Brazil is dangerous down the wings, full-backs charging forward to assist Raphinha and Vinicius Junior, who like to get to the byline as much as cut inside. And that should be a recipe for corners. Brazil had 6 corners in its opening game and should match or better that against the Swiss.

Granit Xhaka to be booked (+165)

EPL followers might not believe you if you told them that Granit Xhaka, the Arsenal and Switzerland midfield enforner, didn’t get on the wrong side of the referee in his team’s 1-0 win over Cameroon. Xhaka is never far away from a wild lunge or a misplaced tackle and those will be hard to avoid when he’s trying to hustle Brazil’s midfielders into errors.

Xhaka, despite being better behaved this year than in previous seasons, has still managed to pick up 5 yellow cards in club colors this season, 2 in the EPL and 3 in the Europa League. He made only 1 tackle against Cameroon – a legal one at that – but the Africans didn’t ask anything like the questions Brazil will.

Raphinha 1 or more shots in each half (-220)

Classy Brazil winger Raphinha was a constant threat in the 2-0 win over Serbia, probably more than Neymar, who had a quiet game before limping off. The Barcelona star, who just loves to come inside and have a shot at goal, unloaded a couple against a super tough and well-marshalled Serbia defense.

Switzerland’s rearguard is maybe not quite as uncompromising as Serbia’s, but either way Raphinha is going to be a go-to receiver for the Brazilians and can be expected to have at least one shot at goal in each half.
