Best Tennessee Titans vs Miami Dolphins touchdown scorer bets: King Henry reigns supreme

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry (22) celebrates after a touchdown during the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders at Nissan Stadium.

This is a special edition of Monday Night Football because we have not one, but two games! One takes place right outside of New York City, while the other is set near downtown Miami. I have focused on the latter for these touchdown scorer best bets, and oddsmakers are expecting a lot of points — especially from the Dolphins. The 4 players most likely to score a touchdown on FanDuel are all Dolphins players, which should tell you all you need to know about this game.

Tennessee Titans touchdown scorer best bet: Derrick Henry (+145)

When was the last time you have seen Derrick Henry’s odds to score a single touchdown this high? The King has been one of the most dominant running backs in football for the last several seasons as well as a touchdown machine. However, this season has been a little different. Henry had scored 4 total touchdowns from Week 1 to Week 11, a drastic decrease from the 9 touchdowns through the first 8 weeks of last season. However, with Will Levis now at quarterback Henry has become more dominant in the offense.

The Alabama product rushed for 178 yards and has 4 touchdowns in his last 2 games. In the red zone the Titans will run it with Henry early before possibly throwing it on 3rd down, so he should have plenty of chances to score 6 on Monday night. The King is back, and especially with an extra day to rest the Miami defensive line should be worried.

Miami Dolphins touchdown scorer best bet: De’Von Achane (-105)

Available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Miami’s secret weapon is back. The rookie RB burst onto the scene early in the season with 451 rushing yards on 37 attempts as well as 63 receiving yards on 8 catches from Weeks 3 through 5. Achane found the end zone an insane 7 times in those 3 games. The speedster was making a name for himself in the Miami offense, but he suffered a knee injury that kept him sidelined from Week 6 to 10. He returned in Week 11, but after 1 attempt for 1 yard Achane was pulled due to a foot injury. The former Texas A&M standout was ruled out for Week 12 before making his next return in Week 13 — and it was worth the wait. Achane finished with 73 rushing yards on 17 carries in addition to 2 touchdowns.

Here’s a fun trend: Achane has scored a touchdown in every game in which he has gotten more than 1 rushing attempt. In Week 2 and Week 11, he had 1 rushing attempt and did not score. In Weeks 3, 4, 5 and 13, he had at least 8 carries and scored at least one touchdown in all 4 games. His speed and agility make him a very dangerous running back, especially in the red zone. I’m backing the trend in hopes that Achane gets at least 2 carries and scores.
