We have a rare double dip of NFL action on Monday Night Football this week, with the first game featuring the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills. Buffalo is looking to remain undefeated in its quest for a division title and top seed in the AFC. On the other side, the Titans are in desperate need of a spark after dropping their season opener to the Giants.

With kickoff set for 7:15 pm ET on ESPN, it’s time to take a look at the best touchdown scorer bets to be made for the first of this Monday Night Football doubleheader.

Tennessee Titans touchdown scorer best bet: Derrick Henry (+100)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

It’s fair to say that Derrick Henry has not looked like himself of late. The Titans running back averaged just 3.9 yards per rush in their Week 1 loss to the Giants. However, backing Henry to get in the end zone is great value at this price. This is a guy who sportsbooks routinely priced at -200 or worse to score a season ago, so +100 is worth a shot. If the Titans are going to stay within 2 scores of the Bills, they’ll need Henry to deliver. Luckily for Tennessee, Henry has been extremely effective against this Bills defense in previous meetings. Furthermore, the Bills allowed the fifth-most touchdowns on the ground in 2021. And while Buffalo bottled up Cam Akers a week ago, Henry is a much tougher running back to bring down. Look for the Titans talisman to record his first touchdown of the season in this one.

Buffalo Bills touchdown scorer best bet: Isaiah McKenzie (+180)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

We rode with Gabriel Davis to get in the endzone last week, but Isaiah McKenzie presents value in his absence. McKenzie should have plenty of opportunities to exploit some holes in Tennessee’s secondary, especially with Stefon Diggs drawing so much attention. Josh Allen has shown a willingness to spread the ball around the field, as evident by last week’s performance. Buffalo’s offense is at its best when all 4 of its primary wideouts are involved and I expect that to be the case on Monday. McKenzie scored a touchdown on one of his only 2 catches in last week’s victory, but he’ll be much more active as the #2 receiver in this offense. Allen has shown to have confidence in McKenzie in short yardage situations, so look for him to be targeted inside the red zone. At this price, taking a shot on a trusted receiver in this offense is worth a play.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer FAQs

What does “anytime touchdown scorer” mean?

Anytime touchdown scorer is a popular player prop bet that NFL bettors can wager on throughout the season. But what is it, and how do you win?

As the name suggests, placing a wager on the anytime touchdown scorer market is when you tip a particular player to score a touchdown during a game. This can be a rushing or receiving touchdown for an offensive player, or you can wager on a team’s defense/special teams to score a touchdown by interception return and fumble return or kickoff and punt returns.

If your player or defense scores a touchdown, you win! The odds will differ from player-to-player depending on the sportsbooks’ calculated probability of that player scoring.

Does anytime touchdown scorer include passing touchdowns?

Not for a quarterback, no. A player must get into the endzone, himself, in order to qualify as an anytime touchdown scorer. If a quarterback throws a touchdown pass, only the player who caught it counts as the scorer. If Joe Burrow throws a touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase, wagers placed on Evans as an anytime touchdown scorer will cash. However, those placed on Rodgers as an anytime touchdown scorer will not (unless he also runs for a TD). See below for more on what the anytime touchdown scorer market means for quarterbacks.

What does anytime touchdown scorer mean for a QB?

For a wager on a QB to be an anytime touchdown scorer to cash, he must follow the same rules as a running back, tight end, or receiver. He must get into the end zone himself, either as a runner or a pass-catcher.

In the age of the mobile quarterback, QBs such as Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray are often seen rushing in for a touchdown on any given Sunday. And don’t forget the occasional Philly Special, either. QBs can sometimes catch passes for TDs, too.
