Before we get into Tuesday’s article, we want to express our excitement in welcoming The Promo Guy (@ThePromoGuy123) to the Pickswise team. Every day — starting today! — you can find his recommendations and analysis exclusively on Pickswise.
With that, let’s dive into Tuesday’s promos and recommended plays, starting with The Promo Guy’s:

NHL parlay insurance: Bet $25 on a 4+ leg NHL parlay (minimum -200 per leg) and get your money back if you lose exactly 1 leg (FanDuel)
Here is the math behind this promo. I’ll go through two ways to show the EV of the bet is ~+19.5% or ~ $4.87 per $25 bet
First way – EV of bet using probability weighted outcomes:
EV of winning the parlay:
14.3% chance of winning +485 = .143*25*4.85 = +$17.34

Duke to score 75+ points and win – Boosted from +140 to +155 with PointsBet Sportsbook
This NCAAB prop needs the Duke Blue Devils to score at least 75 points and to win against Ohio State. Duke is the newly crowned No. 1 team in the country after beating Gonzaga last week. They are averaging 85.6 points per game, so even a game against the Buckeyes should see them score plenty. Ohio State has struggled against weaker opponents early on this season, so to step up to Duke is likely going to be an issue. The talent Duke has looks to be too much, therefore backing this prop looks to be worth a play.

Purdue to score 80+ and win – Boosted from +170 to +185 with PointsBet Sportsbook
This prop needs the Purdue Boilermakers to continue their fantastic start to the season with a win over Florida State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. We will also need Purdue to score at least 80 points in the game. The Boilermakers are averaging a staggering 92.3 points per game (2nd in the country), so even against what looks to be a solid Seminoles squad, they should be able to have plenty of success. Our experts like Purdue to win and cover tonight, therefore backing this prop looks to be a solid play.

LeBron James to record 45+ points/rebounds/assists – Boosted from +250 to +280 with DraftKings Sportsbook
This NBA prop needs LeBron James to pretty do everything tonight. He will need a combined 45 points, rebounds and assists. Over his first 7 games, James managed to do this only once. However, since returning from his 1-game suspension, he has hit this mark in 3 consecutive games. He is listed as questionable tonight, so keep an eye on the injury report. If James does end up playing, this prop is likely worth a play given how dominant he has been recently.

At least two 3-point FGs made in the first 3 minutes of Nets vs Knicks – Boosted from -170 to -125 with FanDuel Sportsbook
This prop need there to be at least 3 3-pointers made in the first 3 minutes of the game between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. While there are a few guys on each side who can knock down the 3, there is less reason to be optimistic about this prop. With Nets’ sharpshooter, Joe Harris out, there may be more of a focus on the mid-range or driving to the paint. For that reason, this prop looks best avoided.

At least two 3-Points FGs made in the first 3 minutes of Suns vs Warriors – Boosted from -120 to +110 with FanDuel Sportsbook
For this prop, we will need 3 three-pointers to be made in the game between the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors. There will be sharpshooters all over the court for this game, including Stephen Curry and Devin Booker, so it is likely we will at least get the needed attempts to have a shot at this prop. Curry is shooting 42.3% from 3-point range and the Warriors have plenty of other guys who can knock down long-range shots. For that reason, backing this prop looks to be a solid play.

New York City to win & over 2.5 goals vs New England – Boosted from +350 to +450 with FanDuel Sportsbook
For this MLS prop, we will be looking for New York City FC to pull the upset over the top seeded New England Revolution. We will also need there to be at least 3 goals scored. Even though NYCFC won their first-round game against Atlanta United, their attack has been somewhat inconsistent this season. The Revolution look like the most complete team in the MLS. Our experts love the Revolution to win, therefore backing this prop is best avoided.
