If the 2020 NBA Playoffs has taught us one thing, it’s that you can never count out the Miami Heat.
After being completely outplayed in games 1 and 2 there was a lot of talk about the Lakers running riot and going on to sweep the Heat. But Miami bounced back on Sunday night, playing with true grit and determination to register an unlikely 115-104 victory and keep their hopes of NBA Finals success alive.
With Bam Adebayo’s status upgraded to questionable for tonight’s game, Erik Spoelstra’s team suddenly has a chance. Now the focus turns to how Los Angeles will respond to that Game 3 defeat. You can find out what our expert thinks in our Game 4 preview, where we look at the spread and totals markets, but right now it’s time to talk about Player Props.
After all the drama last time, there are plenty of questions that need to be answered. Will Jimmy Buckets be able to replicate his 40-point effort? Can LeBron and A.D. bounce back? We’ve picked out our two best player props for tonight’s big showdown in Orlando.
Jimmy Butler Over 6.5 assists (-154)
Jimmy Butler has registered 13 assists in each of Miami’s last two games, and it is no coincidence that stat has increased substantially since Goran Dragic went down in Game 1.
Prior to Dragic’s foot injury, Butler had posted seven or more assists only twice in 16 playoff games. However, he has since picked up that playmaking role and has been just as important in setting up scores as he has with his own buckets.
Dragic remains doubtful for Game 4 and if he is ruled out then it should not take much for this bet to cash based on what we have seen in the last two games.

LeBron James to record a triple-double (+280)
The body language of LeBron James at the end of Game 3 said it all–the man is angry. But he is also focused and determined. Bad things tend to happen to the opposition when LeBron gets in this mindset, and he could bounce back in a big way by recording his first triple-double of the NBA Finals.
It’s amazing how close he has gone in each of the first three games of the series. In Game 1, he was just one assist away. In Game 2, he was one assist and one rebound away. And in Game 3, he was two assists away. Even with how badly things went for the Lakers on Sunday night, LeBron still kept himself within the triple-double range, and it seems only a matter of time before he finally gets it.
James and Anthony Davis are likely to be men on a mission Tuesday night, and regardless of what the result is they can be expected to come out and put up big numbers.
