I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. After a loaded 10 game slate, we’re left with just half the amount of games on Wednesday’s NHL slate. With skaters returning and teams looking to continue their playoff push, there is still plenty of value in the player prop market. The Jets get their best skater back from health and safety protocols and the Blues look to improve their division standing at home. Along with our player props, be sure to check out our full game previews for tonight’s matchups.

Kyle Connor over 1.5 points (+130)

Kyle Connor has been one of the most consistent point scorers in the league this season with his 82 points in 67 games. That value would be even higher had he not just missed the Jets’ last three games due to health and safety protocol. It wasn’t just his individual stats that suffered; Winnipeg’s power play and entire offense looked lost without his lead. Now back after an unfortunate long rest, expect Connor to come out firing.

He leads the Jets in shots on goal by a ridiculous 80 shot margin, leads the team in goals by 15 with his 41, and has 41 assists as well. It’s clear that Connor is the Jets primary offensive weapon. He also skates alongside Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler who average just above and just below a point per game average, respectively. With those two at his side, they provide Connor with even more opportunities to record points. He’s also no stranger to recording multiple points in a single game as he has done so in 24 games already this season. Better yet, Connor has played Detroit once already this season and recorded 2 points in that contest.

Jordan Kyrou over 0.5 points (-150)

The Blues have the luxury of playing the league’s two worst teams in back-to-back games at home. They faced the Coyotes last time out, where nearly every skater in their first three lines recorded at least a point. Except Jordan Kyrou. Yet Kyrou still leads St. Louis in points even after that outing and having missed the game prior. He’s one of just two of their skaters who average a point per game.

He’s made a name for himself this year, especially after beating Connor McDavid in the speed skating competition over all-star weekend. For a young star in the making, Kyrou will definitely be coming out hungry to continue his rise to becoming a household name. Facing the Kraken at home provides the perfect opportunity. Seattle’s goaltending ranks ninth-worst in the league, allowing 3.49 goals per game. Meanwhile, the Blues’ goal scoring is averaging 3.59 goals per game, good for the fifth-best in the league. With such a disparity, expect the Blues to put up plenty of goals and Kyrou to be involved in at least one of them.
