Auston Matthews over 0.5 goals (-115)
The Toronto Maple Leafs star will be playing his hometown team tonight, the Arizona Coyotes. He currently has 23 goals in 31 games played this season and has three goals in his last two games. Matthews has currently tied the Maple Leafs franchise record for the longest road goal streak at eight games. With one more hr will cement himself in Leafs history as the sole leader. Matthews has been averaging more than 20 minutes a game in the month of January, and the more ice time he gets the more chances he can generate. Despite all-star forward Mitch Marner being on the Covid-19 list, Matthews has still managed to look dominant.
Playing against his home team will give him some extra motivation to break the Leafs’ road goal record. The Coyotes haven’t been the best defensive team in the league, either. Scott Wedgewood is expected to start in the net for Arizona and he has allowed 3.18 goals per game with an .894 SVP. The team currently has the worst goals allowed per game in the entire league with 3.79. Expect the Leafs and Matthews to take advantage of their poor defensive play. Take Matthews to record a goal tonight; he has the extra motivation and has been on a roll these past few games.
