Troy Terry over 0.5 points (-118)

For the first time all season, Troy Terry was held pointless in a 3-2 loss against the Nashville Predators, because of that, oddsmakers could be undervaluing his ability to bounce back with a point. He currently has 22 points through 18 games this season, he’s been one of the most surprising players of the season and has been consistent. He has a 27.3% shooting percentage this season, if he continues to shoot the puck (which he’s averaging more than 2 shots per game) he could garner a point tonight via a goal. He has 12 goals in 18 games. The 17-game point streak was not a fluke. Terry is a legitimate player in the league and he should continue to make a name for himself.

The Colorado Avalanche are on a 5-game winning streak, so if the Ducks want to pull off a victory tonight they’re going to need their big guns to perform. The Avs are allowing 3.27 goals per game, which is good news for Terry bettors tonight. That’s the 7th-most goals allowed in the league, and the Ducks are currently averaging 3.32 goals per game the tenth most per game. Additionally, Terry is averaging more than 2 minutes a night on a powerplay that’s operating at 25.9%; the 5th-best rate in the league. The Avs have the 9th-worst penalty kill with a 78% success rate. Take Terry to record a point tonight, he’s too consistent and the Avalanche have struggled all season on the defensive end of the ice.

Connor McDavid over 2.5 points (+175)

Like Terry, Connor McDavid had a streak that ended last night. For the first time in 25 games (extending to last season), McDavid was held pointless. He’ll be looking for a revenge game tonight and it’s the perfect storm for bettors who are looking for high-end value. Additionally, the Oilers are playing the Coyotes tonight, the worst team in the league. The Coyotes simply do not have anyone that can match up with McDavid’s abilities and his speed. Three points is definitely in play. McDavid has had 3 points in only 4 games this season, but everything is aligning for a huge game. He’s the best player in the world and he has a higher standard for himself than the fans, his teammates or the coaching staff. Being held pointless, and coming up one game short of Patrick Kane’s record for an active player’s point streak, is something that probably stings a bit. He should be flying tonight.

The Oilers haven’t had the same team success they had to start the season. They’ve won just 6 of their last 10 games and they cannot afford to drop a game to the Coyotes, who are on a 2-game win streak. This is a can’t-lose for the Oilers as they look to retake first place in the Pacific Division. Their captain will look to have a big game tonight to secure the victory. Don’t bet the house, but for bettors looking for some good value, take McDavid to record over 2.5 points — +175 is great value for the best player in the world against the worst team in the league.
