Best player props for Tuesday's NHL slate: Rust has 4 goals in last 2 games

There are just seven games tonight, so we’re going to take a deeper dive into two of the matchups and choose two player props we think will provide good value and will have a great chance of hitting. Games are starting at 7:00 pm ET and the final game of the night starts at 10:00 pm ET. For a lot of teams this is the first game back since the All Star break, players are well rested heading into tonight.

Bryan Rust over 0.5 goals (+175)

Bryan Rust is having the best year of his career and has shown no signs of slowing down. He’s coming off of a two goal performance with nine shots on goal. Oddsmakers are seriously undervaluing this play, he has been a scoring machine playing with Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel. In his last 2 games he has 4 goals; he is currently on a multi-goal streak — how many players in the league can you say that about? Since returning from his lengthy injury on January 1, Rust has recorded 12 goals in 12 games. Admittedly, most of those came in multi-goal games, but that doesn’t take away from what he’s managed to do. At +175 bettors are getting incredible odds for this play.

Jeremy Swayman is confirmed as the starting goaltender for the Bruins. This will be his first appearance in more than a month. It’s tough to imagine him having a solid game after so much time off. Take Rust to score…again.

Connor McDavid 0.5 goals (+120)

After a much needed break with the all-star event, Connor McDavid is hoping to lift his team to the playoffs in the second half of the season. He’s been playing some great hockey as of late, expect that to continue here tonight. In his last five games, he’s recorded a goal in four of those contests and is currently on a two game goal streak. With the latest addition of Evander Kane on his wing, McDavid has had an extra pep in his step and he’ll be looking to have a big game against the Oilers’ divisional opponents. At +110, bettors are getting great value with this bet. McDavid is the best player in the world and has spent the last week in Vegas. His energy and mood are likely positive and heading into the tail end of the season he knows what’s required of himself; league dominance.

Robin Lehner is expected as the starting goaltender for Vegas. He hasn’t had that great of a season this year, allowing 2.76 goals per game. Against the third ranked powerplay in the Oilers, he might struggle tonight. Back McDavid to find the back of the net.
