Tied for the league lead in scoring, tonight Auston Matthews will be playing a divisional rival and possible first-round opponent in the Boston Bruins. This is not only an important game for the standings, but it’s an important game for everyone in the Toronto locker room. The Maple Leafs have had demons against the Bruins, and with Matthews on a 2-game goal streak, and scoring 11 goals in his last 9 games, he’s looking to lead Toronto to an important 2 points tonight.
Not only is Matthews and company looking for a victory, but Matthews is trying to extend his lead for the most goals in the league. He’s currently tied at 48 goals (a career-high for Matthews, which he reached in 60 games) and he’ll be hunting 50 very soon, if not tonight. The last time these teams met, the Leafs won 5-2. If they can have a similar performance, Matthews is bound to contribute. Take him to find the net tonight.

Brock Nelson has been on a great streak for the New York Islanders. He has 4 goals in his last 3 games and 8 goals in his last 8 games. He now leads the Islanders in goals and points. The Isles will be playing the Columbus Blue jackets tonight, who are on a 3-game losing streak and have allowed 12 goals in 3 games.
The last time these teams met, the Islanders won 6-0 and Brock Nelson found the net. The Islanders and Nelson will be looking for a repeat performance here tonight, and Nelson will be looking to continue his goalscoring streak. Nelson currently has a 22.8% shooting percentage — if he can continue to shoot the puck tonight, a goal is a great possibility. Take him to record over 0.5 goals.
