Eleven games line the MLB docket today/tonight and that’s enough for me. The beauty is a lot of it is on television between the San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds on YouTube at 12:35 pm Et and the MLB Network’s onslaught of games. They’ve got the Yankees/Rangers or Nationals/Cubs at 2:05 pm ET depending on your market. Then at night, we’re getting the Marlins/Phillies or Red Sox/Blue Jays depending on your market. If that’s not enough, they’re throwing the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers at 10:10 pm ET. That’s a ton of baseball on our television screens. The least we can do is find some player props to hammer. Here are two that stick out to me.
Don’t forget to check what our MLB analysts have backed with side and total picks for all 11 games today/tonight. As always, bets can be added to the card so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? It makes sense.
Alex Cobb Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+110)
Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing
We’re only getting a number on Alex Cobb at DraftKings but the price is right. Cobb is pitching the first game of the double header which is usually a no-go for me but an exception can be made this time. he won’t need more than four innings to get this number.
Cobb started the season on a roll striking out seven White Sox in his first outing and then 10 Royals in his second. He went at least 5.2 innings in those two games which was a good sign. He had a few rough outings before going on the injured list on May 5th.
My theory is he had a blister which caused the tough starts. He still struck out at least four in two of the three games and in two of those appearances he came out before pitching three innings. The Twins don’t exactly strike out a lot but they do swing and miss just like everyone else. If Cobb can go at least four innings today, he should get five Twins to sit down.
This is one of my favorite player props for today.

Wil Crowe Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-130)
Line available at BetMGM at time of publishing
This one is a bit juicy but sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze. This looks like one of those times. It will no doubt be one that we will probably sweat as Crowe is far from a power pitcher.
On the season, Crowe is right at a 19.1% strikeout rate according to FanGraphs. He was never more than 23% in the minors so it’s not likely that number will get much better in the pros. The plus side is, Crowe has struck out at least five in his last two starts. Both of those starts went at least five innings which will be key tonight.
Crowe’s opponent tonight will likely play a huge role in him getting home. No team in MLB has struck out more than the Atlanta Braves over the last 15 days. They have a plethora of hitters expected to be in the lineup tonight that are 25+% in strikeout rate in that span. This is a low bar for Crowe given the situation.
This is one of my favorite player props of the night.
