I want to play more MLB player props but at the moment, the books are just nailing their offerings. Especially pitcher strikeout props. DraftKings is doing the thing where they throw out a decent number but price it at -160 making it unplayable. It’s madness on the streets. Don’t fret though, they can’t get them all right and today it looks like they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Even better, this prop is coming in a day game. Even better than that, this game is nationally televised. We’re just living the dream at this point. That’s right, at 1.10pm ET, we’re getting the Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox on MLB Network. We should lay down a bet.

Kris Bubic over 3.5 strikeouts (-110)

We’ve got choices for our MLB player props people. DraftKings is hanging 3.5 for -110 which is right in line for my tastes but we can also grab Bubic over at FanDuel for 4.5 +124. I almost always opt for the plus money price but I am going DraftKings on this one. I would be willing to bet the price goes up a little as the day goes on. -110 is very cheap here.
Bubic is a reliever that doesn’t get many starts. These are the kinds of guys to look for in the MLB player prop market. His last start was back on June 13 against the Oakland Athletics and since then he has only been used twice out of the bullpen. Here’s the thing, in his last seven starts he has pitched at least four innings in all of them. Bubic was able to fan at least four in six of those starts. He is no stranger to cashing 3.5 numbers.
I don’t love the fact that he’s getting the Boston Red Sox today but it is what it is. They’ve only struck out 36 times in their last 189 at-bats which is worrisome but we only need them to sit down four times today. They just played late into the night last night with all the weather delays, so hopefully, that will play in our favor. Bubic just fanned two Sox in 2.2 innings of relief work a couple of weeks ago. It’s reasonable to think he can get four if he can last four innings today.
