The Pickswise MLB player prop team is hot. We are 11-1 in our last 12, including 4 straight winning days. That is what you love to see. There is a smaller MLB slate today, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find a solid prop to bet on. Personally, I am on a nice 14-4 run, and there is one play in particular that I like this evening. On top of this article, you can follow me on Twitter for any added plays throughout the day.
Let’s keep it going.
Tyler Alexander over 3.5 strikeouts (-125)

Tyler Alexander has been in and out of the Tigers’ rotation this season, but he might be sticking around as a starter. Alexander takes the injured Matthew Boyd’s spot in the rotation, and he will get the nod in tonight’s game. Since the start of August, Alexander has posted a 3.00 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 33.0 innings. He is not a flame-thrower, but he throws a lot of strikes and doesn’t walk many hitters. In fact, he ranks in the 83rd percentile among all MLB pitchers in terms of walk rate. So, it seems likely that he is going to be around the strike zone tonight. He could also have a favorable matchup against a strikeout-prone Tampa Bay lineup.
No American League team has struck out more than the Rays so far this season. As talented as they are, they swing and miss a lot. Alexander faced Tampa Bay in his last start on September 10, and he punched out 4 in 4.1 innings of work. He is averaging nearly a strikeout per inning on the road (39 in 43.2 innings), and the Rays are striking out at the third-highest rate in all of baseball at home so far this season. If we get at least 4 innings out of him, I like Alexander’s chances of reaching this number.
