Tyler Bertuzzi is having the best season of his career. With 24 points in 27 games, he’s operating at nearly a point per game and has delivered in some major moments for the Red Wings this season. After getting shut out last night in a 4-0 loss, the entire Detroit team should be motivated to bounce back with a victory. In order for them to do that, they’ll need contributions from their top line. Since returning to play, Bertuzzi has 3 points in 4 games, despite being held pointless last night. Bertuzzi is averaging 19:13 minutes per game, the most of any forward on the Red Wings this season. He’s also averaging nearly 3 shots per game and has a shooting percentage of 22.7%. After an embarrassing performance last night, you can bet that Bertuzzi will play hard in this game and do everything he can for his team to walk away with a victory. More time on ice means more chances to produce.
Both the Ducks and the Red Wings are playing in the tail-end of a back-to-back. There will likely be fatigued legs in tonight’s game, which should open up the game, bringing mistakes and lazy penalties. After a scoreless night, Bertuzzi is taken to bounce back and get on the board. Take him to record over 0.5 points.
