Cole Caufield over 0.5 goals (+175)

Cole Caufield may not win the Calder Trophy this season due to his slow start, but there’s no denying he has been the best rookie of the second half of the season. Since the Canadiens’ head-coaching change, Caufield has looked like a completely different player. He leads all rookies in points since the switch was made, and he has incredible value to record a goal tonight against the Senators. The Sens haven’t been able to stop a beach ball over the last 10 games, allowing 3.6 goals per contest. And now they have to face Caufield, who has scored in 3 straight games and has totaled 4 goals in his last 3. He has been unbelievable as of late, and bettors shouldn’t miss out on these odds. He has had 10 straight games of 3 or more shots. Against a Senators team that lacks goaltending, any one of those shots could drop. Take Caufield to find the back of the net.

Auston Matthews over 0.5 goals (+120)

Auston Matthews will be making his return to play tonight following a 2-game suspension. Oddsmakers must have forgotten the skillset Matthews has to put the puck in the back of the net by posting this line +120 is criminally undervaluing the best goal-scorer in the league, who has now had a week of rest. Before his suspension his line to score a goal was as low as -133. Matthews has scored in 5 straight games and has recorded 8 goals in that stretch. He’s also in pursuit of a 60-goal season — he needs 15 goals in the next 21 games. He knows it, his teammates know it, and the opposing goaltenders are afraid of it. Matthews has lit the lamp 37 goals times in his last 38 games. You read that correctly. He still leads the league by 5 goals despite missing 5 games this season. Take Matthews to score.
