It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve found you an MLB player prop. With the NFL and CFB going on it’s easy to forget about the boy of summer. One thing I can assure you of is I have not lost my fastball. It’s still here. But before you read the rest of this you need to be warned. This one is fire. It’s not for under guys who are full of under-guy energy. This is for all of us go-getters because we deserve something to go get. If you’re over 35, be sure to take a nap today because this one is coming on late.

We are going after FanDuel tonight because they have the best way to do this MLB player prop. DraftKings has 4.5 -125 but they don’t have the 6+, 7+, 8+ options which we need. BetMGM doesn’t even have a number for Wood yet. Hopefully they will join the party soon.
Here’s where the books messed up on Alex Wood. He’s pitched only twice since August 26 and he is on a playoff team. He was pulled early in his last 2 starts because the Giants are building him up for the postseason. This is his last start of the regular season and I would bet anything that he goes 80+ pitches tonight. Keep in mind, even in his last 2 abbreviated starts, he still struck out 4 and 7. In the game where he struck out 4, he threw only 37 pitches. That’s crazy.
His opponent tonight is the hapless Arizona Diamondbacks. Anytime he’s thrown 90+ pitches against them this season, he’s fanned at least 7 of them. Merrill Kelly pitches for them tonight and he is a whiff king, striking out 25 times in 45 at-bats this season. Wood should shine tonight.
This is my favorite MLB player prop of the day and if you want to kick up the experience a little, you can go 6+ (+140), 7+ (+320) and 8+ (+750) for .25 units each.
