The hockey world is a bit of a mess right now, as COVID has caused several games to be postponed over the last few days. The good news is that we still have 4 games to work with for Sunday’s slate. Our team has picks on the side and total for each matchup, so be sure to check those out. Along with those plays, we have a player prop in mind for today’s slate. Let’s take a look.
Evan Rodrigues over 0.5 points (-124)

The Pittsburgh Penguins are riding a 6-game winning streak, and the play of Evan Rodrigues is a big reason why. In those 6 games, Rodrigues has racked up 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists). He is now Pittsburgh’s second-leading point-scorer with 23 points this season. He trails Jake Guentzel (27 points), who is now on IR with an upper body injury. That could leave more of a workload for Rodrigues, and he is showing that he can deliver.
Tonight the Penguins are in New Jersey to face the Devils. They played last night against the Red Wings in Detroit, and they made their way back to New Jersey after the game. On the second half of a back-to-back, they could be dealing with some fatigue. They have allowed 23 goals in their last 5 games, and goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood is dealing with a neck injury. Akira Schmid got the start for New Jersey last night, so that means Jon Gillies seems to be in line for this one. He has made just a single appearance at the NHL level this season, and has played at the NHL level sparingly over the last few years. The Penguins have scored 3.83 goals per game over their last 6 contests, and they should be able to keep things rolling tonight against a tired Devils team. Look for Rodrigues to stay hot en route to finding the score sheet tonight.
