If we’re being honest (we are), I really wanted to throw down on every MLB game today since we don’t have another full slate until Friday. Sure we have the All-Star Game and one game on Thursday but’s it’s just not the same. The issue is, the books are getting tight with MLB player props. It’s crazy. Outside of the Aaron Nola number looking decent at DraftKings at even money, I can’t find anything. Except one. We have to wait until 4:05pm ET, but we have something when the Washington Nationals visit the San Francisco Giants. Something good too.

Kevein Gausman over 6.5 strikeouts (+120)

This number is definitely better at BetMGM. It’s being offered at DraftKings for only +105 which is betable, but not as good as BetMGM. You have to watch your numbers in the MLB player prop streets. You just do.
Gausman has been lights out this season with 124 strikeouts in 108.2 innings of work. He’s not throwing as hard as he did earlier in his career but his fastball is still tapping 94 mph on the radar gun which is good enough for me. He’s coming off of a masterful seven-inning, eight strikeout game against the St. Louis Cardinals so his form is where we want it.
Gausman gets the Washington Nationals today which isn’t great but it’s not bad either. Over their last 254 at bats they’ve struck out 50 times which is good for a 19.6% strikeout rate. That’s low but over the last two games starters have had their way. Just yesterday Anthony DeSclafani whiffed six of them in six innings and the day before, Logan Webb was able to fan four of them in three innings. If Tres Barrera is in the lineup and Erick Fedde bats twice today, Gausman should record 7+ strikeouts on the afternoon.
