Today is the definition of a “quick hit”. At 2:10pm ET, we’ve got the Detroit Tigers taking on the Minnesota Twins which is a fantastic way to start the Saturday betting schedule. It’s in the early afternoon so it’s early enough to fell “early” but it’s also late enough to get something productive done if that’s the type of human being you are. Obviously we are looking for a MLB player prop today and I think I may have found one of the most fun ones you can possibly bet. It’s borderline genius.

Kyle Funkhouser over 1.5 strikeouts (+140)

The only place I have seen this MLB player prop is DraftKings and they are giving us +140 so I’m in. I doubt we will see anything at BetMGM or FanDuel as they don’t usually list guys like this. We have no clue how long Funkhouser will be in the game since he is primarily used as a reliever. I think we could get ten batters out of him today.
Funkhouser usually doesn’t pitch more than 35 pitches so this one is a gamble. I think it’s worth it though since he could easily go two to three innings and get through the lineup once. The last three times he’s faced at least seven batters, he’s struck out at least two of them. That’s good!
He’s got the Twins today and he could even hit this number in the first inning. Especially if Trevor Larnach is batting third again. Larnach has struck out twice in both games so far this series. The beauty is, there are plenty of strikeout candidates all through the Twins’ lineup given that they are striking out at a 28.4 percent clip over their last 190 at bats. We just need two. This is one sneaky good MLB player prop.
