The hockey world is a bit of a mess right now, as COVID has caused several games to be postponed over the last few days. To start the week on Monday, we have a small slate of just 2 games. Our team has picks on the side and total for each matchup, so be sure to check those out. Along with those plays, we have a player prop in mind for today’s slate. Let’s take a look.
Mats Zuccarello over 0.5 points (-124)
Line available at FanDuel at time time of publishing
Mats Zuccarello did not recorded a point in his last game against the Sabres on Thursday, but the good news is that he hasn’t seen multiple games without a point much recently. In fact, Zuccarello hasn’t gone back-to-back games without a point in more than a month. I like his chances of finding his way back on the scoresheet tonight against the Stars.
Over their last 6 games, the Stars have allowed 3.67 goals per game, which is much higher than their season average of 2.86. They aren’t getting it done in their defensive end, and Minnesota should be looking to capitalize. The Wild are putting up 3.62 goals per game, which is the second-most in the league. They have a potent offense that can score in bunches. Zuccarello is Minnesota’s third-leading scorer with 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) in 23 games. He’s also seeing steady power-play time, and has racked up 9 points on the man advantage. The Wild have lost 3 straight games, so their sense of urgency should be high. Look for Zuccarello to lead the charge en route to finding his way on the scoresheet. It’s also worth noting that Zuccarello has 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) in 16 career games against the Stars.
