After a five-game slate on Tuesday, we are back for another five-game schedule on Wednesday night. The action starts at 5:00 p.m. ET. Here we are going to focus on the player props and will be looking for guys to step up for their teams. Make sure you also check out our picks on the side and total for every game as well.
Auston Matthews Over 0.5 Goals (-114)
The Toronto Maple were involved in an epic collapse the other night against this same Ottawa Senators team and will be looking to bounce back strong in this rematch. One of the ways they can do that is if Auston Matthews gets involved in the scoring again. Matthews leads the NHL with 13 goals and just scored two in the prior meeting with Ottawa. We believe the Maple Leafs are going to be upset with how that game ended and we expect them to storm back here with an inspired effort. Matthews is the leader of this Toronto attack, so there is reason to believe he can increase his goal lead on Tuesday night. In three games against Ottawa this season, Matthews has three goals against them, and we like that to continue here.

Patrick Kane Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+102)
We have gone with a Patrick Kane shots on goal prop before, and we are back again for Chicago’s game against Detroit. Kane is tied for fourth in the NHL with 62 shots. He is averaging about 3.6 shots on goal per game, and has at least four shots on goal in nine of their 17 games this season. Kane just had five shots on goal in the Blackhawks most recent game against this same Red Wings team. Detroit’s defense is not very good at all so it is very likely Kane is going to have more than enough chances to trouble the Red Wings’ goalie. At plus money, we are going to back Kane to fire enough shots on goal to cash another over.

Mark Scheifele Over 0.5 Assists (-112)
We are expecting another epic clash tonight between the Winnipeg Jets and the Edmonton Oilers. Our player in focus is going to be a guy from Winnipeg, who has pretty much done everything for them this season. That player being Mark Scheifele, who leads the team with 21 points. Our main focus is going to the rate at which Scheifele is producing assists. First of all, he also leads his team in this category. Secondly, he is tied for sixth in the NHL with a total of 14 assists. Scheifele has had at least one assist in 10 of the Jets’ 15 games this season, so at the current price, and with the rate at which the Oilers are allowing goals, we will be backing this over.
