We’ve got a 13-game slate for Saturday’s NHL card, and that means there are plenty of opportunities for value. Right now, we’re going to be focusing on player props, bringing you a few of our favorite props. Before you bet these, make sure you also check out our picks on the side and total for every game.

Sidney Crosby Over 2.5 shots on goal (-140)

The Pittsburgh Penguins did lose their most recent game to this same New Jersey team, however, there is still reason to back them here. Today we are going to be backing Sidney Crosby and all he will need to do is shoot. Crosby is second on the team with 87 shots on goal. That averages out to exactly three shots on goal per game. Considering he just had eights shots on goal against New Jersey and five the game before that against Boston, we believe asking him to have another three is more than reasonable. In fact, he has cashed this prop in four of the last five games, so we will back him here as well.

Victor Hedman Over 0.5 assists (-175)

Tampa Bay is enjoying a small lead at the top of the Central Division, but can not afford to slip up much against an average side like Chicago. Here we are going to back one of the Lightning’s best players. That being Victor Hedman, who leads the team with 29 points. Most of those points have come from assists, which he leads as well with 23. Hedman has had one assist in three of Tampa Bay’s last four games. He also has had five assists in six games against Chicago this season. Yes, it is a steep price, but because we like the Lightning to win by at least a few goals, I think we will see Hedman contribute today.

Connor McDavid Over 3.5 shots (-125)

This may seem like an obvious play, but Connor McDavid is having far too good of a season to not come back to every once and awhile. The Oilers’ Center leads the NHL in points with 58 so far. Breaking that down, he has 20 goals and 38 assists. Even though he has scored a few times recently, we are going to take this play in a different direction. That being a shots on goal prop. McDavid is second in the NHL with 131 shots on goal. That averages out to about 3.9 shots of goal per game. Just the other night, Edmonton played Winnipeg and McDavid had four shots on goal. He has cashed this prop in seven of the last 10 games, so we are expecting the same tonight.
