Andrei Vasilevskiy over 32.5 saves (-125)
Game 1 is going to set the stage for the rest of the series. If the Tampa Bay Lightning have any chance of winning, it should be through the incredible play of their goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. Vasy has been the best goaltender in the world for a few years now and nobody seems to perform better in the playoffs. He is currently posting a 2.27 GAA and .928 SVP, which could be good enough for him to win the Conn Smythe (Vasy is currently +325, but the line will shift if Tampa takes Game 1).
Last year’s playoff MVP is looking to set the tone tonight, and he will need to be on his A-game against the explosive offense of the Colorado Avalanche. In all 4 of their games against the Edmonton Oilers, the Avs had more than 40 shots every single game. They averaged 43 shots per game in the last series, and there’s no reason for that to stop now. Colorado made it to the Finals on the back of its offensive ability, but Tampa Bay made it this far because of their elite goaltender.
This series will be the meeting of an unstoppable force and an immovable object. While the Lightning may not take Game 1, expect their goaltender to have an incredible performance. Take Vasy to record over 32.5 saves tonight.
