Alex Ovechkin over 0.5 goals (+145)

Alex Ovechkin has officially scored the third-most goals in NHL history. We are possibly witnessing the greatest goalscorer of all time. Now that he’s taken third all-time, the flood gates are open for Ovechkin. He has another battle ahead of him to catch Gordie Howe, who is currently 34 goals ahead of Ovi. With the relief of gaining sole possession of third place off of his shoulders, he’s free to just play his game. He’s scored in his last two games and now has 38 goals on the season, 7 behind Auston Matthews for the league lead. For +145, the odds are too good to pass up on.

The greatest goal scorer of our generation is just starting to heat up as we enter the final 20 games of the season. His opponent tonight, the Carolina Hurricanes, are starting their backup goaltender Antti Raanta, which is more good news for bettors. Take Ovi to find the back of the net tonight.

Tomas Hertl over 0.5 goals (+200)

Tomas Hertl was snake bitten last night. In a 3-0 loss to the LA Kings, Hertl had six quality shot chances. Tonight, the Sharks will be taking on a much better team in the Colorado Avalanche, but that just means the top players for the San Jose Sharks need to perform if they have any chance. After a six-shot night, it’s clear Hertl is getting the chances, he’s just waiting for one to drop. He has a 15.3% shooting percentage this season, so if he can have another dominant night in the shot department, one is bound to go in for him.

At +200 bettors are getting great odds for a player who has 25 goals in 60 games this season. He’s averaging just under 20 minutes of ice time and more than 2:30 minutes on the powerplay. Take Hertl to record over 0.5 goals tonight after an unlucky game last night.
