I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. Unfortunately, we have just 3 NHL games on this Halloween Monday. However, we are always here to find the best value and make it a profitable day for you. It’s likely that there aren’t many sides or totals that catch your eye. Thankfully, we always have the player prop market. There are some teams that look set up for success on home ice, and that’s also where we’re going for today’s player prop. Along with our player prop, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Let’s take a closer look at my favorite player prop for tonight’s slate.

Vladimir Tarasenko over 0.5 points (-145)

The St. Louis Blues began their season 3-0-0, but have since been on a skid. Vladimir Tarasenko has been their most consistent skater thus far, and he helped us cash a prop already this season. That was for his overall point prop, and he had 2 that night. We’re going with the same prop again tonight, although we also suggest his assist prop at around +140 odds. It also helps that Tarasenko recorded 2 points in all 3 games against the Kings last season. Four of those 6 points were assists, and LA was a much better defensive team last year.

They allowed the 2nd-fewest shots per game and allowed the 8th-fewest goals per game last season. However, they are now allowing the 4th-most goals per game. That’s great news for a Blues team at home that will be out to avenge their recent losses. It’s still worth taking the overall point prop as it should be far more expensive than this price. St. Louis has 8 skaters that recorded at least 20 goals last season, which means plenty of opportunities for Tarasenko to lend a hand or score himself. Until the Kings prove they can stop the puck from finding the back of the net, Tarasenko can add to their goaltending woes.
