It’s been a thrilling Stanley Cup Playoffs already, and things are only going to heat up as we start setting the conference finals. In the second round specifically, we’ve seen quite a bit of back-and-forth. Along with that, we’ve also seen significant blow outs in either direction. That can make it much more difficult to predict winners. Thankfully, there’s always the player prop market for us to find value. That’s what we’ve done here for the 2 matchups on the ice tonight. They were series that were expected to be low-scoring, but have been quite the opposite, so let’s check out our top NHL player props for Thursday’s Stanley Cup Playoff matchups.

Jesper Bratt over 0.5 points (-110)
There’s no denying that the New Jersey Devils have disappointed in their series with the Carolina Hurricanes thus far. After getting blown out in the first 2 games, they were able to bounce back in a big way at home with a huge 8-4 win in Game 3. However, Carolina answered right back with a 6-1 win in Game 4. Now on the brink of elimination, someone is going to need to step up to help Jack Hughes carry the Devils. There are a few options, but we’re going to trust a skater that’s come through for us throughout the season.
That would be New Jersey winger Jesper Bratt. He may not be listed on Hughes’ line, but with Hughes at center, they’re certainly on the ice together often enough. Even still, being on a line with Nico Hischier and Ondrej Palat is strong in itself. Bratt proved that in Game 3 with 2 assists. It’s also not as if that was some outlier. Bratt had 73 points through 82 games this season and performed well against the stout Carolina defense. In their 4 regular season meetings, Bratt led the Devils with 6 points. With his team now needing him more than ever, we’re trusting him to come through in Game 5.
Jason Robertson over 0.5 goals (+155)
We didn’t target the superstar in Hughes in the Devils vs Hurricanes matchup, but we’re going with the one in the Kraken vs Stars Game 5. Before we dive into Robertson, it’s worth mentioning to also consider Tyler Seguin to record a point; he’s had a bit of a resurgence in these Stanley Cup Playoffs. Having said that, we’re still focused on the 25-year-old Robertson. Despite having veterans Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn on the squad, he feels like the true leader of the Stars. That’s been on full display all season with his 109 points.
That was tied with Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers for the 5th-most in the NHL, and we’ve seen what the Panthers have been doing this postseason. Similarly, Robertson’s 46 goals were the 7th-most in the league. While it’s been Pavelski and Roope Hintz finding the back of the net recently, it’s difficult to imagine Robertson not doing so for much longer. That should hold even more true with this series heading back home to Dallas. He was even ahead of both Pavelski and Hintz in expected goals in Game 4, per MoneyPuck. Given his track record and the pivotal Game 5 ahead, we’re expecting a big night from Robertson.
