Today features a slightly bigger slate of NHL action than there usually is on Sundays, but we certainly won’t complain about that. More games means more skaters to target in terms of player props as well. Before we get into our favorite plays, there was consideration to target New York Rangers skaters in the first game of the day against a struggling Washington Capitals team. However, they surprisingly reduced the ice time for several top-line skaters on Friday night. So, we’re going to be cautious about that game. Even still, we’ve found other spots we love for today’s NHL player props.

Tim Stutzle over 1.5 points (+155)
Since we’re going to pass on the Rangers game, we don’t have a play in the afternoon games. However, it should be more than worth the wait. That’s because we’re picking on the worst team in the NHL — the Columbus Blue Jackets. Firstly, they allow the 2nd-most goals per game, and have given up the absolute most since the start of 2023. If that didn’t sound ideal enough, they’ll be on the second night of a back-to-back. Less than 24 hours after taking on the Florida Panthers, who lead the NHL in shots per game, they now need to host the Ottawa Senators.
The Sens’ playoff chances require a miracle, but they still have some great talent on the ice. That includes Tim Stutzle, who is really having a career year. The left winger is leading the team with 84 points through 72 games and is closing in on a 40-goal season. He recorded multiple points in 8 games last month, including a 2-goal performance against the Jackets. In fact, he’s had multiple points in both his matchups with Columbus this season. After seeing them give up 7 goals on home ice just last night, we’re confident in another big performance from Stutzle tonight.

Elias Lindholm over 0.5 assists (-105)
Picking on the Anaheim Ducks has been an extremely profitable approach this season, and there’s truly no reason to stop tonight. Not only do they continue to allow the most goals per game this season, but they’ll also be on the second night of a back-to-back. To make matters worse, both games will be on the road. After having to take on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, they now have to head to Calgary to face a Flames team trying to get hot. They’re coming off a road win on Friday and are trying to keep their playoff hopes from burning out.
Calgary put up 5 goals in that recent win and it was extremely surprising to see Lindholm not get involved in any of them. That isn’t going to deter us from targeting him. He has the 2nd-most points on the team with 63 and leads the squad in assists. Given Anaheim’s awful defense, it’s no surprise that he has plenty of success against them. Lindholm has recorded at least a point against them in 6 of his last 7 games against the Ducks. That includes both their matchups in March. He may not be nearing a significant season milestone, but we’re still confident he can get the job done on home ice tonight.
