There are only 4 NHL games on the board tonight, but we’ve still found a couple of great player prop bets. We have some extremely expensive favorites today such as the Dallas Stars over the Arizona Coyotes, so props seem to be the way to find value. Our featured skater is in that matchup. Our other play takes place in the first game of the night, so let’s not waste any time breaking things down.
Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Miro Heiskanen over 0.5 assists (-130)
There’s no denying that Jason Robertson is the household name of the Dallas Stars. However, we’re focused on a lesser-known skater who is arguably just as effective. Miro Heiskanen is one of the primary reasons for Robertson’s goalscoring prowess, as he leads the team with 51 assists. He has 62 points overall on the season, which demonstrates his preference to dish out helpers.
The defenseman is virtually always on the ice, as his 25:37 per game is the 5th-most in the NHL. That means he has opportunities to link up with Robertson, Joe Pavelski, Roope Hintz and captain Jamie Benn to name just a few. Such a star-studded lineup should perform well against a struggling Arizona Coyotes squad tonight. They’re above only the Chicago Blackhawks in the Central Division, and Heiskanen has enjoyed facing the team from the desert. He’s had 3 assists in his last 3 games against them, including one when Dallas traveled to Arizona earlier this season. The Stars need this win to try to regain their spot atop the Central, and Heiskanen should help them do just that.

Adam Fox over 0.5 assists (-135)
Now let’s get into that play that takes place a few hours earlier. Despite just 4 games on the ice, the New York Rangers are on the second night of a back-to-back. However, they should still perform well given how terrible the Buffalo Sabres’ goaltending has been. Buffalo has given up a ridiculous 5.5 goals per game this month, while there is only one other team with even over 4.5 goals allowed per game. That bodes well for a Rangers team looking to continue improving its playoff seeding. This should also be a welcome shift after facing a tough New Jersey Devils team last night.
You may recognize Adam Fox, as he came through for us with this same prop earlier in the week. While this may seem like a lack of effort to target a different Rangers skater, his success against the Sabres is simply too strong to ignore. He’s had at least an assist in 9 of his last 10 games against them, with multiple assists in 6 of those. It’s also worth noting that he had 2 assists on Tuesday night when we used this prop. Overall, he has 17 assists across 14 games against Buffalo. It also doesn’t hurt that the Sabres have the 3rd-worst penalty-kill unit. Lastly, he has the 12th-highest ice time in the league and skates alongside Patrick Kane, Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin. With all that in mind, we’ll trust another defenseman to dish out a helper.
