The Hurricanes-Devils and Kraken-Stars series have provided plenty of surprises and entertainment. The unpredictable — or at least less likely outcomes — keep happening whether it’s a rout or a competitive goal=fest. The Stars and Devils really need these Game 4s to to avoid facing an elimination Game 5. These will be a couple of action-packed matchups.

Here are my favorite NHL player prop bets for Tuesday’s schedule. You can also check out our NHL picks for each of today’s games.

Timo Meier, NJ, Over 0.5 goals (+185)

Timo Meier finally got on the scoresheet on Sunday with his first goal and point of the playoffs. There was plenty of noise around the lack of production from a high-valued trade target in the middle of the regular season. Meier got the monkey off his back and now will look to ramp up the production having now broken through with his first goal this postseason. This is not some depth role player. The reason there was some noise around a lack of production is that Meier had 40 goals and 66 points in 78 games played during the regular season. A 40-goal season is impressive enough but is even more so considering the majority of that production was on the 4th-worst team in the league with almost no help.

Any chance of scoring Meier would have otherwise is amplified by being on a great line. He is currently the left winger on a line with star Jack Hughes and Dawson Mercer. Meier is also on the top powerplay with Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt and Dougie Hamilton. There will be plenty of offense generated with these guys and then some. As such, there is a great chance that Meier gets opportunities to score or at the very least make a play. He can play a little more loose now and get back to the style that led to him netting 40 goals during the season. This has been a very high-scoring series. If averages hold then offense will continue to be a trend and Meier’s +185 odds to score look great.

Jaden Schwartz, SEA, Over 0.5 points (+100)

The Kraken put up a touchdown and extra point on the Stars in Game 3 to take the series lead. They just don’t stop. Every player, 1-18 up and down the lineup, has just played relentlessly and has contributed one way or the other. Jaden Schwartz’s 7 points do not sound like anything too impressive. But on the team who during the regular season scored the 4th-most goals per game in the NHL and the most goals 5-on-5, Schwartz is tied for third and only 2 points behind the team leader. The Stars had the league’s third-best goal prevention during the regular season. The Kraken have found a way to score 14 goals on them through 3 games in this series. Seattle continues to play great and generate offense and Schwartz is in a great spot to continue being a contributor.

Schwartz is a proven playoff player. In his 11+ year career, he has played well over a full season’s worth of playoff games. He has 29 goals and 61 points over 98 career postseason games which include a Stanley Cup. His pedigree and career playoff numbers alone indicate this is a player that can make a big play at any time in a crucial game. A +100 number for Schwartz to log a point is good value considering he is a top-6 forward, on the top powerplay and has been one of the key performers during this impressive playoff run.
