What Monday lacks in the quantity of games on the schedule, it more than makes up for in terms of the quality. Golden Knights vs Oilers is the only game in the NHL tonight and it sets up to be a great one. The series is locked 1-1 entering Game 3 between these teams that really do not like each other. The rivalry was amplified in Game 2 which saw 54 penalty minutes for the Oilers and 70 penalty minutes for the Golden Knights. The matchup between these teams has been plenty chippy and high scoring. This is a big game in a great series that will be appointment television.

Here are our favorite NHL player prop bets for Monday’s schedule. You can also check out our NHL picks for each of today’s games.

Chandler Stephenson over 0.5 points (-135)

Chandler Stephenson had a career year during the regular season and has rolled his strong play into the playoffs. He has been one of the most reliable players for Vegas this season having played all but just 1 regular season game. While 65 points are far from threatening a league leader, the steady production across an entire season played is stability that a Stanley Cup contending team needs. Through 7 games played this postseason, stability is exactly what Stephenson has brought. He leads the Golden Knights with 5 goals and is second on the team with 9 points. In what is becoming a nasty, heated series, Vegas and Edmonton will need to lean on their reliable players to get the job done. Stephenson qualifies as a reliable player for the Golden Knights.

The teammates with whom Stephenson consistently shares the ice definitely reinforce the reliability that the team and coaching staff will have on him. He has averaged nearly 18 minutes of ice time in the first couple of games of this series. Ice time will only increase as the benches shorten with each minute played being higher and higher stakes. Stephenson centers the second line with Brett Howden and Mark Stone who leads the team with 11 points in 7 games. Chandler Stephenson also centers the top power play with Stone, Reilly Smith, Jack Eichel, and Alex Pietrangelo. In a very offensive series, there is plenty of opportunity for production. Stephenson has been in the thick of the production for Vegas in these playoffs and is in a good situation to continue to be so.

Leon Draisaitl over 1.5 points (-125)

Leon Draisaitl is on another level from the rest of the players in this postseason right now. He is playing just out of his mind because he has 13 goals and 17 points in 8 games played in these playoffs. The NHL record for goals scored in a postseason is 19, and Draisaitl could reach that record before even getting to the Stanley Cup Finals should Edmonton make that deep of a run. This is a historic performance he is putting on without really any sign that he will slow down any time soon. Through just 2 games in this series, Draisaitl already has 6 points fueled by a 4-goal performance in Game 1. Between the regular season and playoffs, he now has 14 points in 6 games against the Golden Knights.

Draisaitl is an animal on his own. But it certainly does not hurt that he is on a line with Connor McDavid and Evander Kane. That line is just unfair. McDavid and Draisaitl alone have 32 points in 16 combined games. They also share the top power play with Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who tallied over 100 points during the regular season, and Evan Bouchard. That power play has 4 players that averaged over a point per game which is the driver behind the historically good conversion percentage. These teams really do not like each other as evident by the combined 124 penalty minutes, so Draisaitl will continue to get looks both 5 on 5 and on the power play. When he gets the opportunity, he typically converts.
