The underdogs continued wreaking havoc on home team favorites yet again on Monday. Home teams bounced back for the most part in the first round after dropping the series-opening game. Thursday is a big night for the Stars and Maple Leafs to avoid hitting the road down 2 games to none. All 4 teams will look for big performances from the players that have come through all season.

If you are looking to have some action supplemental to game bets, here are our favorite NHL player prop bets for Thursday’s schedule. You can also check out our NHL picks for each of today’s games.

Sam Bennett over 0.5 points (-120)

This Panthers team has gone from a pesky Cinderella to a legitimate Stanley Cup contender in the past week and a half. They are playing great hockey having now won 4 straight games scoring a combined 19 goals along the way. There have been contributions all up and down the lineup, but a very key contributor has been the pairing of Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk on their line. For all intents and purposes, the driver has been Tkachuk. He has 5 goals and a team-leading 14 points in the Panthers’ 8 playoff games thus far. But Bennett’s 4 goals and 3 assists are not too shabby. Having missed the first game of the playoffs, those 7 points bring Bennett to a point per game. There is no indication his line will stop producing anytime soon.

In the Panthers’ 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs to kick off the Eastern Conference semi-finals, Bennett had a goal and an assist. He is off to a good start in this series and his production continues to be there as stakes increase game by game. Again, it does not hurt that he is on a line with Tkachuk and Nick Cousins who have 3 points in the last 4 games. The Panthers and Maple Leafs have allowed the most goals per game of the 8 teams remaining in the playoffs. Every game has the potential to hit a high total. That being the case, the odds Bennett’s line produces with him getting tallying a point has very good chances.

Jason Robertson anytime goal scorer (+135)

It almost feels like Jason Robertson has been quiet in these playoffs even though he is averaging a point per game. This is a guy who had 46 goals and 109 points while suiting up in all 82 regular season games. He is an absolute gamer but has 11 points in 14 career playoff games. Likely plenty more playoff games ahead for the 23-year-old, Robertson will break out in the playoffs at some point in his career. With a point per game so far, it might as well be this postseason. He was the leading scorer on the team that scored the 7th most goals in the NHL and had the 5th best power play. A +135 number for Robertson to score is good value against a team that is good but not great in terms of goal prevention.

A major factor in favor of Jason Robertson is his linemates. He is on a line with Roope Hintz, who leads the Stars with 12 points in these 7 playoff games, and Tyler Seguin who has 5 points in the last 4 games. Robertson is also on Dallas’ top power play with Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jamie Benn, and Miro Heiskanen. Robertson alone generates enough offense, but his chances of scoring are only amplified by the very good teammates he skates with over 17 minutes of ice time per game. The Stars’ top line of Robertson, Hintz, and Seguin has 25 points in 21 combined games so far in the playoffs. They will get their share of any offense the Stars muster up and the best player positioned for success is Jason Robertson.
